That's not a conspiracy theory. NYCFC really is the evil villain in the eyes of every other soccer fan in the country.
Yeah but a post accurately reporting news is not an example of that. EOS has a Red Bulls bias but to say that they have an active agenda against NYCFC is overstating it. Dave Martinez has been covering the Red Bulls for nearly 10 years and NYCFC for 1 of course there is a bias. But compared to the crap at Hudson River Blue and Skyscraper Blue, EOS is the most professional product we have. Although I believe NYCFCWatch can over take but was a little inconsistent with updates last season.

I always assumed he was butthurt because Yankee stadium didn't give a year long press pass for nycfc games and had to apply for each game or something. And it started from there

I might be wrong, but I thought that was the case with a lot of bloggers and journalists. I was always under the impression we never were going to get a fair shake from some people, because NYCFC wouldn't bend over backwards and kiss their ass.

Now, pardon me whilst I change the chinstrap on my tinfoil hat.

Thank you.

But for the most part I thought we pretty much got the shitty end of the stick quite often from guys like Brian Lewis, Jack Bell and Grant Wahl too. Unless of course you don't want to consider neither of them as "journalists" (which is fine with me).

Those three are debatable - they work for real news outlets, but coverage is interesting at times..... and didn't Jack Bell just get hired by the NASL to be their in-house media specialist or something like that? That's like a fox news reporter going to work for a candidate's campaign.

Bell was hired by the NASL. I don't recall what capacity, but I believe it might have been along the lines you mentioned or maybe even something like official league historian.

As I've mentioned previously I quite often email/tweet sports media types and several of them will take the time to reply (LaGreca, Mushnick, Cannizzaro). Everybody was pretty cool except Bell. He was really one obnoxious s.o.b. and I couldn't figure out what his problem was.......I figured it out when he took that job with the NASL. ;)

I remember when Stefan bondy was giving the inside scoop (I think it was the pirlo transfer) it felt like every blogger was pissy about it since It wasn't one of them to break the news

Here's the thing though, I don't count bloggers and their passion-websites as news-breakers when they get a scoop from Twitter..... that's what those imbeciles can't figure out and get so defensive about - rewriting info taken from a tweet and saying you've reached out to clubs with no response back is not doing due diligence.

Most of the local bloggers are red bull fans whose allegiance is bought with press passes and free sandwiches + rb cans.

I do like Michael schwartz
But he just tweets for the most part I think writes for metrosoccer or something like that

I think there is a line between blogger and reporter that some try to straddle. My own opinion is that I write analysis and opinion pieces and leave the reporter to the ones who are good at that. If I tried to do both I would come off worse in the end and fail at everything. Thus I will happily credit the appropriate source and defer to an actual reporter for source info. When you try to be a catch all it can often fail unless you have a large staff to keep things separate, many do not though.

Exactly! Your site gives thoughtful commentary from outside-the-box positions and you're not trying to pass yourself off as a news source - but more importantly, you own that fact/reality whenever discussing your site.

What's weird to me is that they were training with the EDS. I didn't expect them to train with first team due to the busy schedule right now thus they shouldn't be over there.

My theory is that they weren't invited but instead the club offered the opportunity to any players wishing to train in the off season and these guys decided to take it and train there rather than enjoy the rest of their time off/train at home.
