york college in jamaica? oof man, i remember last time i was in there ( many years ago) it was not that great. a pain in the ass for me to get though, maaaybe ill go to the citi field games if nycfc is away or fifa break.
USL apparently mandates new teams to be in SSS within a couple of years or at least have a plan in place. I really doubt its willets point as that will take a long as time to get it done. But another jamaica area could work i guess. it may be modular long term too like phoenix rising has.
MLS exclusive zones is just that, MLS exclusive. i dont think USL teams are affected by it, especially now that USL has its own academy system going. For the kids this is good, there are more teams to look for them.
EDIT: i know good amount of people that live in that area so im sure they would go, will it bite into nycfc attendance? probably but the attendance is suffering already, i do hope we get some sort of partnership with them, ill have more of an excuse to watch USL instead of just blindly watching no team to root for.

york College is a 5 minute drive south of St Johns. It’s right next to the E/J/Z line and a block from the LIRR main hub. It’s a great location for accessibility. im assuming they have the modular stadium there till willets is worked out. Could be 5+ years, but i bet they announce the plan from the start. Works out great for me coming from LI. I’d prob even train it to Jamaica so I can drink.
i think it’s great for kids too and villa’s academy system is already up and running. Maybe with a WP stadium they can be MLS’ 32nd team or something like that.
I was looking forward to this as it would give an even more local team to go and see, but this is about as far (if not further) from my house than Yankee Stadium! Still, at the end of the express line, so it might end up being quicker to go to...
Definitely going to be a great option if they manage to alternate their home games with NYCFC.
Looking forward to US Open and New York Derby.....would be awesome is Rochester Rhino came back or upstate team gets announced
And the Kosmos fall further down the pecking order of relevancy..... didn’t think they could go lower than non-existent, but here we are.
Those degenerate Borough Boys will gaslight their past allegiance to total failure and figure out how to latch on to QFC as founding supporters. Guaranteed.
E_J_Z seem to vary in availability on weekends. i think they tend to have bunch of shuttle buses, LIRR better choice, pricier but more reliable choice i think.
yea LIRR is best to go if coming from manhattan/ bronx area. depending on the schedule i may make the trek out.
If you're only a couple stops in the LIRR, you can sometimes not pay if you avoid the ticket taker. (that's what the bathrooms are for)
