Serie A 2015/2016

Thought we might as well open a new thread for the new season. So far this is looking like the most interesting season in quite a few years with both Milan teams spending big. Juve have also made a ton of changes after losing both Tevez and Pirlo.

Napoli and Roma have been quiet so far but I expect both to make at least a few changes before the mercato ends. Roma sound very to close to landing Dzeko, and Napoli seem to be pushing hard for Allan.

Well Napoli are without Rafa Benitez now so we will see how this season plays out. They got Pepe Reina back from Bayern and signed Mirko Valdifiori from Empoli.

It will be interesting to see how Sarri does at Napoli. I really liked his Empoli side, but managing a team like Napoli will be much different. He will now have to deal with smaller teams parking the bus against him, and the pressure is obviously much higher.

But it's nice to see a manager who has worked his way up from the bottom given a chance at a top team. You unfortunately don't really see that anymore.

Any rumors of a US tv deal?
Bein Sports still has the US TV rights unfortunately. It's the same network that also has La Liga and Ligue 1 games.

Serie A was dumb and went with whoever offered the most money instead of whoever could give them the best coverage. The Bundesliga will probably make less with Fox Sports initially, but I'm sure the league is going to blow up in popularity now just because more Americans will have access to it. Barely anyone in the US has Bein Sports.

Milan's stadium plan was approved today. In the next few years we could see Juventus, Roma, AC Milan, and Fiorentina all owning brand new stadiums. Udinese are doing serious renovations on theirs at the moment as well.

Hopefully it pushes Inter and Napoli to follow suit.

Dzeko and Salah-> Roma
Jovetic->Inter Milan

Can't remember the last time there were this many interesting strikers in the league. Has to be pre-calciopoli. Higuain, Mandzukic, Dzeko, Icardi, Jovetic, Bacca, Morata, Dybala, Berardi, Adriano. Any of these guys could be capocannoniere imo.

I'm going to try to follow at least some Serie A this season, paying attention primarily to Juve, Roma, Fiorentina and AC Milan.

I always sort of worry that if I actually choose a Serie A team to support I'll accidentally pick one associated with fascist politics or something... :/

That is an unfortunate reality for Serie A and a lot of other things in the world.

As the saying goes, those who like sausage and respect the law should watch neither of them being made. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

From what I understand most of the fans with political agendas are a very small minority of the overall fan bases these days. A lot of the guys have been kicked out of the curvas by other supporter groups. Of course that doesn't mean its gone away completely either. Especially with some of the smaller teams.

Haven't followed Serie A much lately but I think Inter should make some noise this season. They have made a lot of good moves.
