Summer Transfer Window

We are tied for the league lead in goals scored and for bottom of the league in goals allowed. Our needs are clear.
I agree fully with where the needs lie, but as an exercise, I wonder what our GF and GA looks like if you drop the high from each for every team. I think that would put us at 30-28.

Villa played wide his whole career till joining us and playing up top because no one else could (once we realized Nemec wasn't going to) and to his credit he's played amazing there since. But, this is not about individual accomplishments, it's about what's best for the team. "Villa - Balo - Jack (VBJ)" may mean less goals for Villa then "Tmac-Villa-Jack (TVJ)", but I would wager it would mean more goals for the team overall and maybe the most dangerous front line the MLS has ever seen.

His whole career is a considerable overstatement. For Spain he usually played centrally, same for his time at Atletico Madrid. You have to go back to his Barca days to find a time when he regularly played wide. Add his performance for NYCFC and the fact he himself said he prefers to play centrally and the whole concept of displacing him at this point doesn't make any sense.

29 to be specific, which is 1.45 goals against per game. That's still not so hot. If you make no such adjustment for the entire league, the average GA is 1.34 per game for everyone excluding NYCFC. I'm not going to look up everyone else's worst game, but if you assume 3 universally it goes down to 1.18.

Isn't it 35-7=28? In any event, your point is well taken. We give up too many goals!

Actually, it is 28, which is 1.4, but the point is still the same.

All in agreement that defensive needs are priority, but don't believe for one second that the Front office of the large clubs won't put that aside if big attacking names become legitimately available.

I agree, and I think that is actually the right approach for how to use the DP spots generally. Per my comments elsewhere on the match yesterday, finishing chances is so valuable in a league where so many teams squander them. I think a key then using your "TAM" slots to build out a solid D that can minimize mistakes to avoid gifting the opponent goals.

You guys see the rumors linking Larin to Benfica? That would be pretty huge, almost Miazga huge. I wonder if Harrison wins rookie of the year, could he get yanked from us by the summer window next year? :(

I don't think it's dependent on winning rookie of the year but would image Harrison will get interest from Europe in the next 1-2 years. Anyone know how long he is contracted for? 2-4 years?

Yeah definitely not dependent on ROTY but you can see the similarities. Orlando fans must be suicidal at this point.

Any word on numbers for Chanot? Wondering after signing him and moving Mullins, where are we with the cap? Hoping a new striker is on the menu soon.

His salary will be known when the players union releases their salary lists. The transfer fee was below market value so it was a good deal, I can give the exact amount in... 2 and a half months. I was asked not to say it earlier, so remind me then and I'll tell you.

Sounds like Larin is headed to Sporting Lisbon for $4 Million Euros. That's the Twitter rumor today
If that's the case, then it really fell from the $10M alluded to the other day.... That's a really horrible deal for Orlando - I hate their club, but MLS is screwing them and it's not right to sell a drafted player that can't be easily replaced within the Cap. Granted, it's horrible for Orlando at both $4M & $10M, but even worse at the $4M mark.
