I can’t say I’m looking for them to lose, but if they do lose I won’t shed a tear or get angry if the winning team dogs them with their celebration.or worse:

anywho, i was not a fan of the drubbing. Silly argument about needing goal differential. Win all your games 1-0 and what do you have to worry about GD? Where's the confidence. I thought we were the best, why so worried about GD, why so worried about placing 2nd. Thought we could win anywhere against anyone at will? Was the ego stroke vs a (barely!) semi-professionals team from a likely underfunded association worth putting a target on your back? Was pressing for the 90+2 min goal worth cheering over when it was clear Thailand just wanted to give up. I'm not so disgusted I want them to lose, but I am also not in love with the hype over having the most lopsided win. Smoke a club team 13-0 fine, but your playing for your country show a bit more class. Just a bit.
Yep, this is where I am. I have no issue with continuing to go for goal, but think they should have toned down the celebrations. But I'm not angry about it.Happy for them and have no problem with the score line. I get the issue about the celebrations, though doesn't bother me as much as it does others. But it would've been cool for them to do a little Barry Sanders type celebration, just pick up the ball and walk back to midfield. I think a more stoic workmen-like approach would have been badass.
Only scoring once in a WC is no excuse to be classless.I disagree. You might never score in the World Cup again. Some of these girls might be in there last World Cup. Some might be in their first. You never know what will happen. Scoring a World Cup goal is special. Enjoy it ladies.
Just wait until we run the score up on the U august 24th. Like Spurrier used to say, if they dont want to be scored on, stop them.Only scoring once in a WC is no excuse to be classless.
A- go right ahead, run up the score or the U, doesn’t bother me.Just wait until we run the score up on the U august 24th. Like Spurrier used to say, if they dont want to be scored on, stop them.

B- you’re missing the point just like everybody else using the scoreline as a defense. Nobody is arguing against playing to score - all of the animosity towards the WNT is because they were celebrating goals, after 5, that were akin to kicking sand in the opponent’s face.
What im saying is, you score a world cup goal, that is an achievement worth celebrating. No matter what the score is, its special.100%. I'm genuinely curious why people keep conflating the two separate issues. D Dnigly13 help me out?
I appreciate that, although I don't think it completely explains the _manner_ of celebration to me.What im saying is, you score a world cup goal, that is an achievement worth celebrating. No matter what the score is, its special.
Are we really, really, still debating whether or not it was "okay" or "classless" or whatever, to celebrate scoring these goals? Maybe I'm missing something, but why do people care about this?
People are really, really, still talking about it because other people are still talking about it or acting in ways that reference the conversation.
I think what it is is that people can't accept that there are multiple opinions out there. I might personally think that there's nothing wrong with celebrating all 13 goals, and you might think it's bad, but for some people it's unfathomable that our opinions could be different and decide to go on a crusade to fix this 'lack of intelligence'People are really, really, still talking about it because people are still talking about it or acting in ways that reference the conversation.
I guess the expectation is that people who don't share the same opinions as us should just be okay with being labeled or name-called ("dorks") though. Why on earth would they do that? Maybe for the same reasons that people label or name-call.
I don't understand this tweet as the US definitely tried to score a lot more than 3, but were constantly kept out by a keeper who had a hell of a game.
Right. Something that a little bit of "I see where you're coming from but <...>, or at least in my opinion" might mitigate.I think what it is is that people can't accept that there are multiple opinions out there.
