USMNT Talk

I'm neither surprised not upset that Johnson is third.
Horvath has played 20 matches in the Championship so far (basically all of them I think) with a GA average of exactly 1. So he's in form. It's fair to ding Turner for lack of action since the transfer to Arsenal, but he was the best keeper in MLS by acclamation before that. I can understand a coach going either way with him.

Yeah, 1 is the first string GK, and then usually the higher number is lower in the hierarchy
Sure, but every position group is in numerical order. The twitter post is not the depth chart. Sean wore 25 throughout his time in Chicago. Saunders wore #12 as our starter. Etc.

I mean, you're right, but international is different than club.
In international, 1-11 is your starters, 12-25 are the remainder. So yeah, maybe johnson is ahead of horvath, but it's highly unlikely given the numbering

Used to be this way but I think this methodology has changed recently. They only specify that the numbers are between 1-26/25. IE Thomas Müller is #13 and has been starting as a #10 or winger for Germany the past few World Cups.

It does appear that SJ is #3, but I could also see him being used over Horvath in certain situations. Like penalties, maybe.

It is unlikely that we ever see who the #2 keeper might be. Regardless, the numbers mean nothing as to the depth chart.

Morris over Weah? Roldan ovee Acosta?

(though I would take Ream over Long)

Sean Johnson: here's some inspirational reminiscing about my history with the USMNT

Joe Scally: fish, sharks, pigs, and more fish

So Joe, any life stories or adversity that you overcame that would be interesting to highlight on your journey to Qatar?

Yeah, there weren’t that colorful fish in my freshwater fish tank. So I switched to saltwater.
