I still don’t want him as the manager next 4 years. But not bc of this.
What strikes me is the people behind it could have simply shared the info with USS and even suggested firing Berhalter and not broken any laws or engaged in “inappropriate behavior” (unless they stole the info or violated an NDA).
But it seems that was not enough for them, and they harassed or threatened people somehow. Unless USS is making way too much of this.
You think this was reported to USS during the WC, and explained to them by GGG and his wife? Then they decided to sweep it under the rug and not add any distractions. Now they realize they might not hire him again and want it in the open before they announce a new manager as a favor to GGG to protect his future career.

I read (and have no idea if it is true or not) that Mrs Reyna and Mrs Berhalter were roommates at the time it happened. They definitely were playing together at UNC at the time though.
It seems so out of character for Claudio, but they have been through trauma and trauma changes people.
I just hope that the ongoing shitshow with USSoccer and the USMNT doesn't impact our 2026 coaching search.
