USMNT Talk

Decent article laying out the questions for the US and Klinsmann ahead of the Copa:
http://www.foxsports.com/soccer/sto...-roster-but-where-does-he-go-from-here-050216

As the article points out, the core of the USMNT is almost nonexistent at this point (really only Bradley and Johnson) and there's no stability whatsoever. There's really no clue as to what formation/XI will be played game to game and even Bradley and Johnson are shuffled around a lot -- Bradley from 6 to 8 to 10 and Johnson from LB to LM to LW.

Jozy Altidore injured his hamstring in the Toronto v Vancouver match yesterday. Yikes?

http://www.espnfc.us/major-league-s...amstring-injury-as-vancouver-sinks-toronto-fc
For all of the potential he showed early on, he's never made good on it, and probably never will - he's damaged goods with three hamstring injuries in a couple years. An athlete doesn't rebound from that many, let alone one when they're as severe as the first. Really a shame because he had the ability, but it's time to pull him from the MNT picture.

No Mix. :(

Glad to see Pulisic, surprised that Jordan Morris was dropped.

Guzan is the #1 goalkeeper. Don Garber is kicking himself at this. Tim Howard coming to MLS and won't get the time on air during Copa America...

Well, good thing I got my USMNT Mix #10 jersey when I could, because according to what I'm seeing in the friendly v Puerto Rico the #10 has been reassigned to Danny Williams.

Tough times for Mix. Dropped from the squad for the Copa America, and losing his number.

I think they hand out numbers based on who's in camp. #10 doesn't go unused if Mix isn't in camp.

I believe that you are right, teams have numbers 1-23 for the 23 on the roster, and nothing more. Keeps international tournaments and friendlies easier to assign or print the kits, also because the rosters are never the same from month to month.
Keith Putnam Keith Putnam he could get it back if he's called up in the future, though that remains to be seen.

I think that's a good thing. He'll play / practice with his real job all summer long and work off the over-rated title. He had his head in the clouds with this USMNT nonsense. If he wants back in the limelight, then he can start logging in minutes and putting up stats to earn his spot back.

The 23 man roster selected by Klinsman is absolute garbage.

Despite the bad roster, I saw somewhere that the USA is at 13/2 Odd's to win the damn thing.
