Spent a few hours watching Watford vs. Southampton, seemed like a nice stadium; small but at least on TV it seemed like a nice place to watch a game. Any chance Watford stays in the EPL beyond this year?

I think they're going to really struggle. As they always say when a team goes up to the PL, the top division will punish you - at the lower levels you can get away with letting chances go, at the top level you have to score the chances you get or you're going to miss out. Watford have now gone two games already without scoring after their first game, and they've been lucky that they've managed to draw every game, but if they don't get the goals then they're going to go straight back down. More than a few pundits have been asking where the goals are going to come from this season, and unlike Bournemouth, I'm just not sure people see enough goalscorers in that team.

Incidentally, I'll be in Manchester for the Watford game this Saturday, so I'll get a first-hand view of just how good they are against a stronger team. Kind of funny that I'm travelling 150 miles and I'm going to end up watching a team from 20 miles away from where I started, but there you are.

Cheers for Watford, they stay in the EPL and have some of the TV money to improve their club.

A friend of mine lives in Watford. He and his son have season tickets. Guess how much his son's season ticket -- 19 premier league games -cost?

£10.

For the whole season.

Although it triples next year because he turned 8. So £30.

For the whole season.

I'm more impressed with bournmouth. Their rise over the last 5-7 years has been just as good of a story as Leicester. From nearly being dissolved entirely 7 years ago to making it to the premier league it's a Cinderella story.

Another nice story are the rangers returning to the scottish premier league ,after basically financial ruin and being sent to the lowest level of scottish football as a result.

Depends on your perspective, of course. They're one of the Big Bads of Scottish football and they got relegated for serious financial mismanagement. Their own fans aside, there weren't too many tears being shed when they were punished. The real down side of their relegation was that their fans bring a huge amount of money (comparatively) to the teams they play simply because they can treble a game's attendance on their own. That, and it turning the SPL into an absolute procession...

Going back to the topic at hand, it'll be interesting to see who Watford bring in as manager over the summer.
