I'm not all that bothered by the option of a veteran on loan, but it's a bit surprising to me that we have the Harrison GAM (IIRC) and it's post-World Cup cycle and we aren't targeting someone bigger for the long term.
Sure but lets not talk ourselves into some TAM/DP thing when we are going to have to likely replace Villa next year. We also don't need a CM right now the way our team is playing. We need one looking towards the end of the season and the playoffs.
I will be concerned if we don't sign one by the end of the window, but we have never been a beginning of the window type of team or a team that leaks info. I guess that sucks as a fan, but with our FO's track record on finding guys like Chanot, Callens, Ring, Tinnerholm, Berget, and Isi the last three windows I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt to find the right player.
1. I took his language as saying there is an immediate need for someone until season's end. If we get someone for longer than that - all the better, but it's not a requirement.
2. How about replacing Villa with a box-to-box guy who can boss the midfield and relying on the rest of our existing front line to score the goals - Shradi, Medina, Berget, Lewis, etc.?

According to @lesportiuGIR, Eloi Amagat is about to close its incorporation into @NYCFC of Dominic Torrent with the contract until December of this year and may be extended for another season. Everything is at home

He passed a physical in Manchester last week under the guise of doing it with Girona. He can be in NYC as early as this week for a press conference. He's out of contract with Girona and would be the first ever Girona player in MLS.
He's also played under Torrent before and has played in three divisions with Girona throughout his career.
