SoupInNYC all your hard work on this is much appreciated. I have to be careful because I am not uninvolved but all your interpretations and conclusions jive with mine. As you know, a ton of work has been done behind the scenes on the many complicated aspects of this project, and IMO it would take a dramatic turn of events to derail at this point. I've been saying, I expect a simmer until the new mayoral admin, and then a push to get going with the environmental and ULURP in the spring/early summer. And yes, the Yankees are being colossal assholes. Again. Go Mets! haha

Dear City Members -
I want to personally share and update you on the status of NYCFC’s efforts to deliver our stadium in the South Bronx. We are disappointed that a recent land assembly vote – which was a central element to the stadium plans- did not take place. It is especially disappointing given the efforts of the Community Board to bring the vote forward. This latest development, however, in no way deters our efforts to build a permanent home for our First Team and fans like you who are the lifeblood of our Club.
As you are well aware, NYC is one of the most complicated and expensive real estate markets to build new construction. Please be assured that we are undeterred and will continue our work to bring this transformational project to the City. The Club remains ready and willing to explore alternative options outside the South Bronx. As always, NYCFC remains committed to working with the community and elected officials to deliver a privately funded, soccer-specific stadium for fans of the club across New York City and beyond.
We know the road to our future home has not been easy and we are grateful for your unwavering dedication.

I think they had to comment due to all the press picking up the story about the pushing off of the vote. I don’t think things have changed much to detail more of just postpone. We’ll see though.
I read the sentiment and interpreted it as we are just as annoyed and disappointed as you all. If these groups that are suppose to be on our side can’t get their shit figured out, then we will go find somewhere else. Which I appreciate. Still hoping the south bronx works
Reading Sims note I am concerned that the tenor is not “this will take longer than anticipated” and is more of “nyc real estate is hard, we are dedicated and we’ll look elsewhere”.

Very well calculated statement from the club:
- Notes disappointment in the recent event that happened that was out of the club's control.
- Gives a shoutout to the local community and all the hard work they had done to prepare for the vote.
- Doesn't throw their business partners (Yankees and Maddd) publicly under the bus to maintain relationships.
- Hints that they are willing to move elsewhere in a manner that doesn't come off as a threat.
- Provides reminder that this is to be privately funded for all incoming politicians.
It’s the CFG way. Say nothing. But if you must say something don’t say anything and at a time that anybody would be listening.
so I guess we should expect the “we’ve severed ties with the Yankees and RBA is our permanent stadium” note to drop at 5 pm the Friday before Labor Day, got it.
I think they would sell or move before that. The last few games have proven (to me, at least) that RBA is not viable with the current fanbase.

All they need to do is buy about 1/2 square mile of Bronx-adjacent property, repatriate it to the borough and BOOM -- NYC stadium at the Bronx Raceway.
After the first one, they stopped selling anything in the upper deck and the midfield lower-level seats opposite the benches.
Despite slightly higher announced attendance, I think no more than 2000-2500 fans.
