anyone know if this game will be televised or just streaming?

It's going to be on a channel called One World Sports. What and where that is I have no idea as of right now. Apparently it is part of the sports package on FIOS.

Thanks man.. appreciate that!

Based on players who start games on the bench the most, available players in each position are according to NYC FC's first team roster on the website...
Defenders: Josh Williams, Kwame Watson-Siriboe, Connor Brandt, RJ Allen
Midfielders: Pablo Alvarez, Javier Calle, Matthew Dunn, Thomas McNamara, Kwadwo Poku
Forwards: Patrick Mullins (He looks like a starter at this point, but he's the only listed forward available)
GK: Ryan Meara

Calle won't play he's been hurt. The rest is probably what the starting line up will look like.

not THAT bad to be honest. Dunns preformance is questionable. Meara is the only weak point i see

Exactly. At this stage NYCFC is going to treat these early round matches like the rest of MLS does.......an unnecessary pain in the ass.

That would be only 10 players, so a true starter will be starting. That starter will be subbed off and most likely Poku too for endure purposes. Don't know if Kreis will make any other changes even in the game is close.

Yeah absolutely. I can see Poku playing 40-60 min. Velásquez will get the start too. It'll be interesting to see how Kreis deals with this. I would think he would want to rest Mullins too and not have him play a full 90.

i hope not. my cousin is a RB supporter, he was honestly pissed that we got Meara

Meara was supposed to be our main GK and replace saunders. Its just Saunders performed well and Meara fucked up his first start in a long time of inactivity. Meara is younger and played at higher levels than Saunders who is mostly a NASL guy.

But in all honesty, its safe to say Saunders really stepped up his game to overcome Meara

Agreed. But I believe Midas said this elsewhere...Saunders is a good blocker but an ok to mediocre GK. His distribution is terrible. He has been fine yes. A bit overrated. He shines because everywhere else has been shit, and he has had to block a lot of shots due to our back line being crap. Though many shots have been things you would expect him to save. He made a dumb mistake or 2. I remember he fucked up with the backpass rule in a game against Philly? I think. Stuff like that shows hes not a long term solution unless he continues to improve dramatically.

You're right about everything except that Saunders is an NASL guy and Maera played at higher levels. Meara was good for the Red Bulls till his injury and since then has mostly rode the bench. Saunders was drafted into MLS and did a lot of his lower level playing on loan from MLS teams. He was LA's starting keeper for about 2 years and has played more games in MLS than at any other level.

Oh, and he won the MLS Cup with the Galaxy.

I stand corrected.

I'm going to be furious if I see a B team. This team needs reps together desperately. You need a rest, rest them for the trip to Toronto that we're not winning A team or not. Beat the Cosmos, rest on Toronto and start working for the NY derby the next week.
I hate this. Even more so I hate that I agree with it. Damn you MikeDatTiger.

I hate this too. And also even more so because I agree. I'm loving Saunders but for all the praise for his shot stopping and criticism of his distribution the part of his game that is rarely discussed is his ability to come off the line. I think this is his biggest Achilles heel.

Great example is the first goal Chicago scored at YS off a free kick. Saunders advanced to no mans land and gave up the goal. This happens a LOT. Whenever the ball comes toward our goal he is the definition of indecision. If he is our long term solution at goal I think this is even more important than improving his distribution.

I stand corrected.
And what's this bullshit? Humility is totally outside the accepted cultural norms of this forum. When you are proven wrong with facts and data you are expected to continue fighting with irrelevant, unsubstantiated claims and then resort to character attacks.

I expect better from you next time.
