Don't know the official SGs plans. We're talking about the 6:08 out of Penn Station or the 5:51 (with transfer at Jamaica) to Mineola. Then either that cosmos van or cab. Drinks around Penn at 4-5. (Triple Crown maybe? We'll see).

I assume Third Rail putting on busses. This might be the best choice for many.

Also heard from a Cosmos source that the Cosmos "Barra Brava" group is vaguely threatening people traveling to the match. I know at least one of them from Metro, and he blah blah blahs a lot, so it's probably talk. Either way, folks traveling in colors shouldn't wander off between the train and the stadium.

Very stupid to try to dissuade away fans from showing up. This is likely their only chance of selling out their lacrosse stadium for the rest of the season.

Correct. I've watched a couple of Cosmos matches on their site without having to go through any type of authentication or anything! My assumption is that this match will be the same.

so who's got the scouting report on the cosmos? I mean i know we went from assuming we were the worst team ever, to woo hoo we won 2 games in a row woot woot ... but seriously who knows the matchups/players/things to watch and are we gonna win? etc.

As someone who follows the NASL, the Cosmos are very good and definitely the best team in that league. Raul is still the best player on the team and has scored 4 goals in 10 games so far for the Cosmos often being subbed out early at the end of games to help keep him fresh. Even at 37 years old he is good enough to cause us problems and will cause us problems throughout the game, he also has solid help in the midfield from Andres Flores (Who has captained the El Salvador national team), Danny Szetela, and Walter Restrepo. They also made a good signing to get Lucky Mkosana who has scored 3 goals and 9 games for them and has been a nice improvement in front of goal from last season for them. The defense has looked sketchy at times for them, so I would say that is their definite weakness but I seriously advice against underrating this Cosmos team and expecting an easy win because we are in MLS and they are in the NASL.

Also the NASL takes this competition a lot more seriously than most MLS sides do. The spring season also just ended so the Cosmos don't have to worry about a game this weekend like we do, so they will field their best possible XI which we in all likelihood won't be doing.

Great rundown. Also the Cosmos beat the Redbulls in this stage last year, also at Shuart stadium.

And watch Senna. I've seen him play some similar games to Poku. Strong. Can muscle players off the ball.

And Mendes. I believe he wears the armband. Very experienced. Positions well.

This is the same info for Time Warner Cable (channel 53 in my area). Thursday 1pm, Friday 7am.

Their A team should beat our B team (especially at their home field). But our team overall is riding a high right now. And momentum can do funny things to a team/game.

Ughh I hope we pull this off. I generally ignore the new Cosmos existence since that's so easy to do but just read an article about us bringing in Iraola and Angelino and the comments section was nothing but bitter Cosmos trolling. Sad fan base.
