was this the same owner that claimed to have lots of money but turned out he has nothing?
Yeah, that's the guy. John Spano

John Spano! There is a fantastic 30 for 30 on him called, Big Shot.was this the same owner that claimed to have lots of money but turned out he has nothing?
I think the worst part about this jersey is that we'll have it for two years since they'll update the home kit next season. Two Years of Onions.
Question for those more versed in MLS jersey history than myself. Any past precedence for a jersey being so horrible that they replaced it in a year instead of waiting the typical 2 years?
We want fish sticks! We want fish sticks! You know, I remember the outrage when these came out 20 odd years ago.

Only kids bought them and everyone else figured the ownership was just money grabbing and clueless (which they were & crooks on top of that!), but now it's turned into a piece of nostalgia because it's so damn ugly and ridiculous. Maybe in 2036 they'll bring these back as a 3rd jersey and we'll all buy them because it reminds of the early days. Not sure what my point is, but I probably wont hate the new jersey in 20 years, but I will now.
I don't think it has anything to do with being horrible looking or not, but San Jose has kept their primary kit for 3 or 4 years and has instead changed the secondary kit exclusively.
I caught it on TV in December. Unbelievable stuff.John Spano! There is a fantastic 30 for 30 on him called, Big Shot.
Just remember, it could always be worse:That's good info for an evil corporate overlord conspiracy theory: CFG wants the primary to stay the same for branding. So, they give a secondary so horrible that euphoria of getting rid of it next year distracts us the fact that we will be stuck with the MCFC clone primary for a third year in a row.
Yeah, 1996 MLS debuted a bunch of crappy jerseys. Then in 1997, they all changed to slightly less bad crap. I cannot find a compilation of the 1997 jerseys in a single image, so you'll have to do your own search. If I remember correctly, Nike used two generic jersey configurations for their allotment of teams. Adidas had more variety, but that's not necessarily saying much.Question for those more versed in MLS jersey history than myself. no way, i'd take that kit. like i said earlier in the thread, i love gaudy colors.Just remember, it could always be worse:
It makes me feel old to realize that I was a sentient being during an era when this was probably considered fashionable. Great find Gator.I wonder how long before MLS does a Retro Week with each team sporting their original kits. It would be great for the 20th Anniversary this season, but after looking at the picture below, I think it will be quite a while.
I meant it's the best picture of the jersey I've seemyou are late my friend....we have all started our five stages of grief.
