2017 General MLS Transfer Rumors

Columbus just signed Pedro Santos, a Portuguese winger, on a DP contract.

I find this most interesting considering its Columbus, and this is the first time they have ever maxed out their DP slots and according to transfermarkt, they paid a $2m transfer fee to get him.

Is Columbus finally taking this serious?
Berhalter is on the hot seat and he's probably cashing in every chit with management he has to save his job.

Also, on the Carlos Vela front, looks like LA will be building a bit of a Mexican rivalry over there with Vela on LAFC and the Dos Santos bros on LAG.

i guess in fan bases.....as dos santos and vela are BFF's.....they go way back

"My happiness is to have come to West Ham , and theirs will be to be in the United States, but that's not why I'm a better player or better person than them.

In fact, the Mexican striker asserted that Mexican football could well learn several things from the MLS to grow , in addition to emphasize that the Mexican usually seeks the negative to everything.

"It's going to be a league that has grown a lot, which as Mexicans have to keep a lot of respect and admiration, I think we could learn a lot for our football to grow.

"I'm happy if he (Carlos Vela) is happy, if for some reason he decided ... Everybody does what he wants in his life , sometimes they make fun of me because I say that they see everything negative, but it seems that way Is that Mexicans love to see the bad for everything, "he sai

Interesting article on the Paul Arriola DC had to give LAG 500k of allocation to get his MLS rights:

Young DP will only be a 200k budget charge for them next year.
I read the article and it's a load of crap that LA held his rights all because he trained a handful of times with the club (not as an actual member of the academy)and they offered him a HG contract that he refused. It reeks of MLS finding another way to funnel money to LA to help them climb out of their dumpster fire they created all on their own. I'm not buying they legitimately held his rights, but if they did and they didn't have the space to bring him in, then tough shit, clubs should not be able to stockpile "rights" and hold promising players hostage. $500k is Bernie Maddoff level criminality, and while I have no love for D.C., MLS bent them over and fleeced them. It's scandalous really.

Scandinavia bound for Bill it seems?

Frankly, I rate Johnson about equal. And I see more upside to Horvath or Gonzales. I'd go ahead and start playing those two of I were the head US man.
