2022 Season Ticket Thread

Any idea what this means as far as trading in games we don’t want and adding additional seats traded in by others in our section for other games? Didn’t see that in the email.

As i said in my post above, it wasn't in the email. I don't have any inside information either. I haven't contacted my rep about it yet. My plan is to wait for more information.

Thanks! Wasn’t singling you out - was just throwing it out there in case anyone had any info at this point.

Every single game has a different price point, with only the Campeones Cup having a round dollar figure for me.

I can't think of any reason (good or bad) why that would be the case, even with my tinfoil hat on.

They probably have an algorithm set in place to determine price point and then they stuck the dates + venues in and chugged math. And then I assume it just doesn't round up/down.

That's how I would do it if I was them, so that's why I'm assuming that.

It's all vapor, so why not keep it simple?

I guess whatever it would take to get the opt-outable game to be the cheapest one of the season...

I was a season ticket holder but dropped during COVID. Bought Vouchers last year. Took a group of 10 to the playoff match against Atlanta.
I am now waiting for a response after filling out a membership interest form online.
Really surprised that the Club didn't reach out at all.
They don't want me back?
They figure I'm a junkie and will come crawling?
They are inundated signing up new members?
Too busy finalizing stadium plans?

I... hope it's the second to last one you wrote...

I received an email today from my rep stating my remaining balance after paying for 2022 using my remaining ticketbank balance will be refunded to me. I'm not sure how (I emailed to inquire) but I assume it will just be credited to my payment method.

Also, for those who don't always get club emails, I received another email from the club with regards to ticket trade-ins this season. We will be permitted SIX trade-ins. The way it is written in the email, it seems like it is 6 trade-ins per account and not per seat, which is how it worked in prior seasons (if I'm recalling correctly). I emailed my rep to clarify this as well.

UPDATE:

rep said refund will go to payment method on file.

as for trade-ins, it is 6 per account, not per seat. any time you reduce the number of seats or downgrade your seats, it counts as one trade-in. e.g., you have 2 seats, trade in 2 seats = 1 trade-in, you have 2 seats, trade in 1 seat = 1 trade-in, you have premium seats and downgrade any of your premium seats to cheaper seats = 1 trade-in.

I really hope that last part isn't right.

If you have 6 seats on your account you could only trade in 1 game, while if you have 1 seat, you could trade in 6 games.

I can't believe that's how it really works.

No? How do you figure that? If you have 6 seats you can make 6 transactions (trade-ins)

You can return seats 6 times, regardless of how many seats are involved in any of them.

If you have 6 seats and trade in all 6, that's 1 trade-in. If you have 6 seats and trade in 1, that's also 1 trade-in.

He's saying that people that purchase more seats actually have realistically less trade-ins.

Right because it's per account. Not per seat. But having 6 seats doesn't limit you to 1 trade-in.

I seem to remember it being 5 trade-ins per seat in the past .. am I not remembering correctly?

If you have 6 trade-ins per account

6 seats:
NYCFC VS MONTREAL - ew I don't, and none of my fam wants to go to that. Let's transfer them to NYCFC vs Austin. (6 trade ins used)
NYCFC vs Cincinatti - eh, I don't wanna go, but I have no more trade-ins.

1 seat:
NYCFC vs MONTREAL - ew I don't wanna go to that. Let's transfer it to NYCFC vs Austin (1 trade-in used)
NYCFC vs Cincinatti - eh, I don't wanna go, so I'll transfer this one to NYCFC vs Toronto (1 trade-in used)
x 4 more times avaialble

It's effectively one trade-in if you want to trade-in your entire group. If you trade in a single ticket here or there then yeah, it's still 6 trade-ins, but that doesn't scale properly.

If the trade-ins are per account and not per seat, then people with more seats on their account are disadvantaged.

You're both misunderstanding the policy.

This is incorrect. In this example you give, you would have 5 trade-ins left.

Think of it this way. You get 6 transactions per account.

Transactions are any time you decrease or downgrade one or more seats on your account. Reselling a ticket does not count as a decrease.

I agree, the more seats you have the worse it is based on this policy. But based on the club email and my rep email, that seems to be the policy in 2022. For the life of me, I don't think it's the same as in 2019 but I haven't tried to look for that policy yet. I think it should be 4 or 5 trade ins per seat.

Ah so you're saying one transaction can include 1 - n amount of seats for a specified game.
So trade-in 1 seat, trade-in 2 seats, trade-in 3 seats from NYCFCvsMontreal, would count as 1 transaction?

What happens if you want to move one seat from game x to game y and another seat from game x to game z, is that two transactions or one?

correct.

if i understand correctly, you have 2+ seats in game X and want to move 1 seat to game Y and 1 seat to game Z, that is ONE transaction to reduce the number of seats in game X by 2 seats. you can add seats to any game and that does not count as a trade-in transaction.

UPDATE:
I found the trade in policy email from 2019. We were permitted EIGHT trade-ins per account. Now it's SIX. Well that sucks. Trade-ins go to your account and the credits must be used by the end of the season. I don't understand why decreasing the number of trade-ins benefits the club or supporters.

Update on the trade-ins decreasing to 6. The rationale, according to my rep, is because there's one optional home game (RBA) and fewer weekday games this season.
