For 7-8 years the team has made it clear that it believes coaches and players owe it no loyalty. You want to leave in the middle of the season, Patrick? Ronnie? We'll support you. You want to leave on a shitty loan deal with no benefit to NYCFC, James Sands? Congratulations. You too Taty? Here you go.
I've been assured repeatedly that this generates good will and a desire to play here, but all I see is people keep leaving while under contract whenever it suits them with little to no return for the club.
So you cannot be surprised if Santi and Alex are probably gone when they're not contractually obligated to the team. But I honestly don't know what we get out of all this doormat behavior.
I'm not saying to stop people from leaving, but fuck the mid-season coach departures and we've got to start only transferring players out on good terms for us, because it's obvious players have learned that the club expects them to treat us a a place to leave as soon as possible, and we'll drive you to the airport and carry your bags and not even expect a tip.

We got GAM for heber. In other cases Players either have no hype (sands, and his rangers performances are not helping) or the team asks for too much (taty) so there is no transfer money just loans. Scally seems to be an exception. Others it’s seems it’s age/salary that makes it not worth moving forward for the FO.

We will see with other players, moving forward

So it appears he will be competing with Grey for minutes. It’s a bit of a risk with only youth options. But I’m excited about taking the gamble on this guy who seems like he’s highly rated by his own national team and playing up levels.

well if callens is really gone, gray will slot into the CB role and this guy takes the right back spot. but yea there will probably be a mix of both of them depending on fitness for chanot and martins.

damn we are THIN in the back...

We only have like 20 or 21 players rostered -- there are going to be more signings. We are not going into the season with Chanot, Martins, and Alfaro as the only centerbacks on the roster.

or ARE we?

I'd be flabbergasted. We have to sign more players -- we barely even have enough for a full gameday squad, and that includes all the Next Pro players who are officially on the first-team roster.

Are we stuck with Martins taking up a DP slot or can that be modified/downgraded somehow, so that he makes similar money or it is deferred or restructured or whatever, while freeing up that slot? (me not know shit about MLS contracts/TAM/GAM/DP/etc)

Feels like they just want to tear down and rebuild over the next 4 years so they have a championship ready team in the new stadium.
