The reports are that Neymar and PSG are in talks to a mutual voiding of the contract. If so, there's both no transfer fee and Neymar and CFG can agree to a completely new salary. I still don't see him agreeing to less than $40M though. So, yeah, I'm dubious, but I don't think it has to be $53M.
I rather CFG spend the $ to pay off all the roadblocks that might impede the stadium: Cohen, remaining chop shops, etc. it will be amazing to see Neymar, but I just want shovel in the ground.

Chicho scored on his debut for RSL tonight. I was saying back in December that NYCFC should sign him. Ridiculous. Funny that we keep getting turned down from like croatian 3rd division strikers...what happened to Ugbo? Siri? Where are the reinforcements?????

Additional point on waiting for the summer transfer window and then not even moving quickly: historically MLS is at roughly the halfway point when the transfer window opens, and NYCFC has played 17, maybe 18 games at most, when the summer window comes, which is always around July 5 (Covid year excepted). But because of the @#$%& Leagues Cup, this year NYCFC played 22 games on the day the window opened. And they still chose not to be ready. It has been a perfect storm of fail.

I begrudgingly stayed a STH for 2024. Now I am just angry at myself. CFG doesn’t deserve a dirty street penny I pick up from me. I have to believe any coach who wasn’t reliant on CFG for work would be speaking up and lining up work elsewhere.

BTW, with all the Neymar smoke, has anyone figured out how we sign a 4th DP? Last I checked, the Brazilian is over 22.

Sooooo … what? We wait 8 hours to see where he lands?
Something like that. If he or someone else even He could be more circumspect about where he's going than that he's leaving.posts it.

With Neymar does NYCFC sell out yankee stadium for home games?

Don’t want him. He’ll play 50% of the games and we still won’t be close to being an MLS Cup contender.

I’d rather have Neal Maupay for NYCFC.

Agree with the Neymar sentiment.

Not sure about Maupay though.

Peak current NYCFC would be for the Neymar stuff to be nothing in reality, but nevertheless the rumors drag on, gaining momentum for another couple of weeks while the club says nothing and makes no other moves, and then they sign like their 4th choice Croatian league striker to great fanfare and bewildered disappointment.
