Acceptable Outcome Next Two Matches

While these games should get us at least 4 points, it's not the end of the world if they don't. This is MLS, where you often see teams struggle out of the gate before going on a tear all the way to MLS Cup. You also see far more upsets than you do in the PL.

Unfortunately, we are that team, and most likely will be for the rest of this season. It will take us at least another year or two before we can acquire and develop a plethora of quality attacking talent. Perhaps later in the season, one of our youngsters will develop enough to be more reliable, but we just are not there yet.

Unfortunately, this is not Europe where we can just open our wallets and build a quality eleven. It will take several years of drafts, DP's, trades and discovery projects before we are on equal footing with the rest of the league.

that I understand, and given this is our first season I'm honestly not even expecting to make playoffs. I'd like for us to, obviously, but if we do not, as long as we put forth some performences and show we mean business, that alone is a strong starting point. But we do have players with experience aside from Villa, being; Nemec, Velazquez, Mix, Grabavoy, Mullins, Hernandez, Brovsky, Saunders... etc. we are not a team full of Khiry Shelton's, straight out of college. we have people who've been around the league/world. which is why I would hate to see the team steer in the direction of solely Villa being our only outlook for attack.

Missing him in our games is actually important for us, it'll show what we need and what we have (incase he god forbid gets injured) Kreis can use this to tailor his gameplan to make sure that even without a star or two, we are a team that can play, first season or not.

I'm an Inter fan, all we know how to do is waste money and say buy buy buy. But I for one am against it. We have the potential to become a strong team, we have the foundation. we just cant have that tunnel vision kinda mentality "feed villa" until something good happens.

Inter use to have the best owner Moratti in football just my opinion

Isn't majority of Serie A in debt? But my point was he was a huge Inter fan who got to live his dream and they won like nuts (match fixing scandal helped)
technically yes, but inter had by far the greatest amount, recently cleared by Thohir. and the next highest debt (as of last year) about 30% of what inter had.

By the end of May, I'd be shocked if we have more that 1.25 ppg.

If you can't score, it's hard to average more than a draw.

We won't significantly score more so long as we have Mix at DM and fullbacks who are awful.

honestly having at least 3 points is fine for me. I aint reading every response but people seem to forget we are still an expansion team and one that still needs work as seen in previous two games.

That being said, since its philly i do want 6 as i always want nyc to win in anything nyc vs philly.

Same here, the least I will be happy with is 3 points but think if we have a couple of good weeks then 6 is definitely doable. I don't expect much from this team to be honest. There's very little bite up front, and even when the forwards are on it's very rare they get a through ball that puts them in a position to score. I'll be happy with a playoff appearance this season, expecting much else is pretty silly to be honest.

They are a conference opponent, and one we should beat. After two games, we should have distanced ourselves from them or at least come out with 1.5 points per game.

Acceptable:
WW 6-0
WT 4-1
TW 4-1
WL 3-3
LW 3-3

Unacceptable:
TT 2-2
TL 1-4
LT 1-4
LL 0-6

Acceptable?... Loss on the road and tie/Win at home- So 1 to 3 points is acceptable in the next 2 games. We're an expansion team.

I think we'll get 4 points tho....

I think we are back in good shape. Velasquez and Villa will both be back (god willing), Shelton is back and Nemec is back. I haven't been a fan of Nemec but his size is a + for us after watching the last match. When you think about it that was 4 of our best players out. That was a good line-up last game but I don't think they have had time together like the normal 11 has/have. Calle as far as I know had no one to communicate to, (not sure who speaks spanish on the team) which is why I think he had a rough time with no Villa/Velasquez. Calle hasn't shown his full potential yet. We need to turn those ties into wins. The team is only 2-3 months in. We'll get there. This has been I think the 2nd time Villa has been out, wasn't he out in preseason friendly too? If it was regular 11 with Shelton or Taylor replacing Villa I believe last game would have been a W for us.

For those that have been following MLS for longer than myself, why does MLS not follow international breaks?

They feel they can't lose the momentum of the opening weeks of games. Its stupid, I think MLS knows it is. But for some reason they can't do it. Someone have a better explanation?

After a week off, we have an away-home double with Philadelphia, currently last in the league standings with 2 points on 4 games. We should be at full strength with everyone available after a week off. Philly travels to KC on Sunday night.

Given all that, what's the outcome you are looking for in these next two matches. I'd personally like to see at least 4 points.

I'd like to see us get 6 points from these next two games.

I think it's just numbers. If they stopped for all international breaks, it would be just too much to handle without a ton of midweek matches and 3 match in 7 day stretches. It sucks, but it is what it is.

Pretty much. One must remember MLS is run according to whats best for the owners, not whats best for fans or players.

After what I just saw Kansas City do to Philly. We're getting 6 points. Anything less would be a complete disappointment. In Kreis We Trust.

Remember that was a Philly team that was missing several players for various reasons yet still controlled the game until the very end. I have more respect for Philly after that game, despite what happened in stoppage time.
