Away - Orlando 08/28

I dont really give much input into the forum but i do a lot of reading of it. NYCFC have 8 games left, Orlando, DC United, Revolution, Dallas, Chicago, Houston, DC again and finally Columbus. A total of 24 points are on the table. To win first place in the Eastern Conference, I personally believe that we need to win 5 out of the last 8 games. affording to lose a game and tying two others. Hey its even possible we dont lose any games. the only teams i believe we face trouble against are Dallas and Houston and Columbus since we can never beat them. Toronto plays Montreal two more times the Red Bulls, and the Union, this is a total of 4 games which they can potentially lose. If we pull 5 wins 2 ties and a lost that puts us at 58 points. to finish the season if toronto manages to win 4 games ties 2 and loses 2 that puts them at 57 points! Lets hope they can lose those 4 games against the eastern conference foes. We may need some luck to pull this off tho. Lets hope NYCFC can win the eastern conference within two years of existence, that would definitely show them Red Bulls how a soccer organization wins!

I was half watching the game last night and it looked like Kreis has the Simbas playing a higher line than they are used to. Toronto exploited that weakeness and if they don't make the adjustment, Villa and support will tear them up. The ball was not going through Kaka much -- very disjointed midfield. Molino was back for the first time in a while, but with the short turnaround they are going to have trouble preparing for us. If we can keep Larin off the scoreboard (who looked better than I have ever seen before) we should get the 3 points.

Orlando had the edge in possession, and successful passes. Toronto had the edge in duels won, corners, shots, and shots on target. Orlando had the ball a lot but did little in the final third. When Toronto got the ball they attacked.

But I'm more annoyed and disappointed with Toronto's win in Philadelphia over the weekend. The Union is sitting 3 spots higher in the standings than Orlando, and has a much better home record. It should have been the toughest of Toronto's 4 away games in 4 weeks.

Would be real nice to have those six points that NYCFC dropped in stoppage time. That's probably going to be why NYCFC doesn't win the East.

In other news Kreis has Kreis-ified Orlando...they play a higher line and want to hold the ball. Harrison's speed and Villa's positioning should be key, I will be angry if Pirlo doesn't drop at least 1-2 passes to either of them in on goal in this game.

Most likely NYCFC will have to score 2 to win because Larin is either scoring one or NYCFC is giving up a set piece goal.

Is Kaka playing as a Right Winger yet? I kid...

In all seriousness, the schedule favors us down the stretch. We should win the East. It's that simple. Toronto, Philly and NYRB should cannibalize themselves over the coming weeks. If one of those teams destroys the others, they deserve the #1 seed.

For me, just get Top 2. That's all that matters.

I see your point on Columbus, but we've only played Houston and Dallas once. Lets give them at least one more match before we say "we can never beat them".

Dallas is good but are they still good without Castillo? We'll see.

Houston stinks. Poor Cubo. MLS really screwed him putting him on a team with no one to provide service.

As bad as Orlando has been playing, its really hard for me to imagine them losing 3 straight at home. We are really due for a win against them. We are 1-2-2 so far.

Well since those are in tension with each other, what's your call? Does Orlando lose the 3 at home; do we get the overdue win? A draw?

No, left winger.

And no, I don't kid.

Even though a draw probably would be a good result, we need 3 points to keep pace with TOR.

Strictly for the drama, I am curious what the interaction will be, if any, between the players and Kreis. Especially the 3 DPs, since supposedly Kreis lost the locker room last season.

And if he did lose the locker room, hopefully the DPs will be fired up for this game and want to prove a point
Well... 2.25 DPs from last year

Kaka, Molino and Mattias Perez Garcia are actually three very good midfielders for MLS. I am counting on Kreis not being able to figure out how to play them together effectively just like he wasn't able to figure out how to have Lampard, Pirlo and Mix be effective for us last year.

His current record supports your wish.... 1-2-2 surely isn't anything to crow about.

That doesn't support anything. Orlando arguably has the worst defense in MLS. They need major personnel changes next season. Their attacking four players are fine. It's the defense and the lack of a midfield link to the attacking four that really screws them.
