Per all the players’ Instagram accounts they are chartering to Dallas as well as from Dallas.

No need to save those charters for the playoffs if your plan is to have all your playoff games at home.
Meanwhile Philly plays tomorrow at NY, Wednesday at SJ and next weekend at CLB and isn’t using a single charter flight. yikes.
Charters should be a considered a mandatory perk - team must use all of them every year. It’s their discretion as to when they charter. Owners just look cheap when they’re hoarded and not released.
Any experts in this field? How much more expensive is it really to charter a flight vs buying ~27 coach tickets and moving all the gear?

Four separate segments, so if we charter round trip to Dallas, that’s two of the four.
Ugh, somehow that just makes MLS rules sound about 1000x worse.
Google is telling me it could be $10k per hour. Dallas is a 4 hour flight. So $80k round trip. If you booked 25 ppl round trip at let’s say $300 round trip each that’s $7,500 + extra chargers for shipping gear. Big difference.
I think when it gets better is if a team buys its own plane. The few million it costs gets amortized over a few years of at least 32 flights a year (bus to RB) that would run $20k-$60k each. Then you’re just paying for the pilot and the gas.
IMO; next franchise fee buys all the teams in the league a new plane. You’d still have cash left over.
If they buy the 737Max, they better get the Cadillac insurance. But seriously, fuel, pilot, maintenance, insurance.... it all adds up, but when it helps the players’ performance, it’s a drop in the bucket - especially now that MLS is giving everybody an interleague tournament spot.
Just for fun I did some quick jet buying research. (And now I want one!) Was looking for 50 people and 3000 miles, found the Bombardier CRJ200.
Looks nice, and just imagine it in sky blue with our crest on it! However, it costs $25,000,000 new. And I couldn't really find what it costs to operate, at least not quickly. Keep in mind though that it's not just fuel and pilots, there's also a lot of maintenance needed as well.
Anyway, buying a jet sounds great, assuming that's even allowed in the MLS rules, but I'm not sure it's really economically feasible.

Active? Yes. But I'm not sure I would say his involvement in the attack has been effective.
We should probably have had 1-2 more goals in the first half against San Jose but Ring on several occasions made the wrong decision or errant pass to stifle our attack.
I'm fine with us spending the cash on the plane as long as we can buy down the contract later to make it a TAM jet.
Compare that to what would have developed in the box if Sands was in the lineup instead of Ring - none of those chances would have developed because Sands doesn't push forward and there's no inclination he would if in the midfield. I'd rather an attack that fizzles over an attack that doesn't materialize.
My understanding is that NYCFC has four total charters per year including playoffs. Makes sense that they would use two now for Dallas, as the last road games of the season are at NE and Philly which are close trips.
I’m thinking with the two that they have left and knowing that they have a home game it’s most likely using the last two to go to Atlanta if necessary and/or MLS Cup in LA. Charter isn’t even that big of a deal for MLS Cup as there is plenty of rest time in between the conf finals and the Cup.

None of what you mentioned is anything I suggested.
Earlier I said I would rather have a midfield 3 of Parks/Maxi/Sands over Parks/Maxi/Ring. Against San Jose, Dome had Ring push further up the pitch than Parks most of the time. If Sands is in, there is no way he pushes Sands up the pitch over Parks.
