Sands and Parks playing CM, and Ring on the left flank might happen because if Deila doesn't rate Mitrita and he sees that one of the three must be sacrificed on the left wing, Ring is the most potent of them to do a job there. From what I've seen, Ring hasn't been worse than usual (he's scored twice in the last three games), but his role has been different from what it was under Domè. Perhaps you expect him to do things that he's not asked to do by the gaffer - who knows.

Geez that's twice in one game, plus the one last time... what a shit show these refs are.
Looking at this highlights there 8+ instances where we had a clear chance at goal resulting in a poor shot or save. Game plan wasn’t the problem. Finishing was.
Ring is a fantastic 6. But when he's been anywhere else, it really hasn't worked out and there have been other options that are better.
And with both Sands and Cacha available at the 6, I personally would like to see Ring on the bench.
Both Taty and Mitrita are actually both decent long distance shooters.
He was having his best game passing the ball against Chicago in the one half he played. Two lovely through balls, one to Heber that he couldn't finish, and then the assist on the Parks goal.
Acevedo is obviously one of those players who get better the less they play.
All I did was rag on GMS after last game which was probably overdone. He looked good on that disallowed goal with how he finished no? Pro fucked him over big time. That would have been a great confidence booster. I’m sorry Gary. Let’s get em next time.

if Delia doesn’t rate Mitrita, then fine. Then play a formation with 4 CMs. He’s playing a natural 6 as a LW. If you don’t have a LW, then don’t play a formation that has a LW in it. It’s stupid.
Or Taty can play there. Taty was at LW against Philly in Orlando and he played pretty well there. He also works his ass off defensively.
outside the box? i think i only remember taty did once against philly ? i feel its not the norm for them though. i feel like Isi can but he was playing on the left instead of the right so he can use his left foot.
Spot on. And this is where Deila fails badly imo.
if you listen to his press conferences, ronny genuinely thinks Ring plays well on the wing and believes Ring is extremely versatile and can play in so many different positions and do it well enough that he feel confident playing him anywhere he needs him.
personally, i think it comes down to Ring is a captain and he doesn't want to bruise his ego and lose the locker room.
we changed our style of play the next game after the players talked to Ronny. Ever since then his talks about tactics have been simplistic at best with things like "we had a game plan and we stuck with it" whereas before he would discuss things in more detail. I really think the players have taken it upon themselves to play how they want to play. Unfortunately, Ronny still has his say on player selection and subs, and i really think he's done pretty damn poorly with both. lack of rotation is going to screw us with injuries sooner rather than later and poorly timed and/or incorrect subs will make or break games. I really think had he brought on more forwards against DC, we would have had many more chances and scored at least one goal that wasn't taken away by Unkel.
his scheduled, repeated subs really irk me too. to me, it shows his lack of in-game awareness and tactical thinking. and that is a big problem in a league where managers are getting smarter and better tactically. can't bring a knife to a gun fight as they say.
Off the top of my head, I remember Taty at Columbus last year and Mitrita at Chicago both with goals outside the box. Both have also put a considerable amount on target that have forced saves.

Late game management was an issue. GMS over Mitri. Not putting on Taty until it was too late. Subbing off Heber when we should have been playing with a second striker. Subbing off Parks and going for a defensive minded midfield of sands and ring.
We should have been throwing everything and the kitchen sink at DC once we saw they had no interest in taking a shot.
9/10 we probably win that game, but I disagree that this game was managed correctly.
