Yesterday my wife my wife tells me she saw a car with a "NY Is Red" bumper sticker. Says that's really obnoxious, but she managed to keep herself from spitting on it.

Reasonable question but definitely not, for a handful of reasons. The most direct of which is that what prompted her to say this was she saw me watching the ORL-ATL game. Also, she has a co-worker whose son plays in the RB system (might just be the kid camps for pay - I'm not sure) and he's an RB fan and teased her after 4-0. She knows what NY Is Red means. You think maybe it was just politics?

I also thought it weird the club didn’t follow MLS convention (in the past). Even on their own broadcasts, they are called Red Bull. All forum jokes about NJ, NJRB or whatever aside, did anyone else notice that MLS has switched from calling them "NY" to "RBNY" in the Form Guide and elsewhere? I think it's a concession to the club and its marketing preferences.

They aren’t the Red Bulls. They are Red Bull.
Which adds nothing other than pointing out something they probably hate but no one else actually cares about.
Same for us and NY. I get so confused when they say NY, and mean Red Bull. Always takes me a second to recalibrate.I was also wondering because I know Dallas and its fans prefer FCD over DAL but the league is still using DAL. I'm not sure how the league decides which teams get to pick their abbreviations and which don't. I also find it confusing that the Galaxy are just LA and not LAG. Since the other LA team has no name, I think of them when I just see LA.
Definitely. The league and networks will never call them NJ, so I actually prefer the RBNY development. It limits my confusion, and I'm easily confused.Same for us and NY. I get so confused when they say NY, and mean Red Bull. Always takes me a second to recalibrate.
I don't have to even look at it to know it's crap. Paul Gardner material is garbage

God I hope not. Unless ManU is releasing him outright/not signing him for a loan tour, and no other Euro clubs have shown interest, then heading back to MLS is silly for him. He should really really really try to catch on with another club in Europe.
