Bless Their Hearts (RBNJ Talk Here)

That was a flop and terrible call on the field but poor candidate for VAR. The defender clipped his heel. Barely, but it was there, and once that call is made....

Exactly why VAR didn't come into play. Since there was contact, even though it was very slight and negligible (i.e., didn't really effect his ability to make a play on the ball), VAR felt it was a judgment call for the ref and not a clear and obvious error for them to review.

This was purely a bad call by elfaf or whatever his name is. Negligible contact should not be penalized. It's pretty clear Murillo continues to run after the contact and THEN decides he should go down, in stunning fashion.

Where are you guys even seeing contact??
About a step and a half before Murillo stutter steps, then falls. Rodriguez crosses behind Murillo and their right feet just touch. Maybe it helps if you focus on the defender, because Rodriguez even has a minimal but perceptible stutter step after it happens, and he obviously has no reason to simulate. There's contact.

...See, if you look at the angle at 0:17, there's never even close to a touch between them... If you combine that video plus the view right after, you can see that they never ever touch...

at 3:29 of the highlight reel, you can see the contact. Murillo's foot moves very slightly from its natural trajectory. Again, it is VERY slight and negligible. It had no real effect on his ability to continue playing but he went down after the fact looking for a PK. bad call.

even the announcer is saying "there is contact but he's got his balance and suddenly he just goes down.."

Sad that refs cannot recognize when a player is looking for a PK vs an actual foul in the box. Can you imagine a call like that at a world cup game with two rival countries? There would be declarations of war after the game. PRO refs need to up their game.. they are holding back this league.

Rodriguez altered his rhythm.
Murillo felt enough to know to dive.
Ref saw it.
Announcer saw it.

That is not clear and obvious evidence of no contact.

Everyone is upset because the contact did not effect his ability to play and he delayed going down making it look far, far worse. Personally, I don't think these kinds of contact (ones where the attacker isn't impeded from playing the ball) should be called anywhere on the field. but contact is there, so it's up to the ref. still think he'll get fined for simulation by disco though. look at maxi - he got fined and there was obviously arm on the shoulder pull back. if murillo doesnt get fined for that while maxi did.. that's just a load of crap

DC got screwed. the minimal contact exists but it was not even foot, all angles seem to it went ankle to foot and murillo got in front of the DC player. and these contacts with arms and other pushing and shoving happen in the box many times and dont get called. what really gets me though is the ref didnt even look at it but all trash refs rely on other trash ref calls.

apparently some other stuff happened in the LAFC vs SJ game too, its gotten so bad that i feel like you got to mic them up and transmit it like they do in Rugby at least you hear their freaking thought process.

I went back and looked and I guess the exact moment of that happening on the other angle is during the fade-in, but he is clearly not phased at all by this, and the actual going down only occurs as his leg is arcing over and when he steps down. I can hear an argument saying the slight contact made him not able to place his foot down where he intended, thereby the fall... but... come on now...

The reference to RBA being family friendly is perplexing.....

But I do agree that colorful language is far too plentiful from the Supporters Section. I have zero interest hearing it when I’m there with friends, and I absolutely cringe when I’ve brought my daughter.

It’s the absolute lowest denominator to use as a sporting taunt. Would be nice for the Third Rail and the other groups to self-police themselves and drop the profanity.

"Go back to New Jersey" is a far better chant than "F the Red Bulls"

Feel like the supporters section should do more to keep it clean. I heard the P chant every time Robles kicked the ball in the second half fairy loudly, and combined with "F the Red Bulls" and "Make some f'ing noise," our supporters section really needs to clean things up. It's fake tough guy crap and there's no need for it.

I'm sure the TV broadcasters love hearing all the profanity too.

Anyone here a third rail member or officer? Maybe raise the issue to clean things up.

I can't believe they did the puto chant in this day and age. Is that at every game? Pretty sure I haven't been hearing lately, and I'm usually near the SS
