Cars, Cars, And More Cars

I feel like the majority of the people on the forums are male and lets face it, we all love cars. We might not all have the nicest car in the world (I know I don't) but nonetheless, we appreciate fantastic looking cars.

I'm only 19 and I'll be the first to say that my first car was a 1999 Nissan Maxima. I received it from my grandmother and I received it with only 35,000 miles. I redid the interior of the car and treated my car like a baby. I washed it all the time, got a new radio for it, and cleaned up the interior almost every day. I loved it until I came home and my dad sold it without even telling me.

Anyone else have some interesting car stories or things about your first/current car?

Bought my first car (Me financing) it was a
2009 Hyundai Genesis 2.0T
That was a lease and got out of it into a
2011 Hyundai Genesis V6 (Purchase)
Now I have a 2013 Hyundai Genesis Sedan v6
This one I'm keeping for good

My first car was a Mazda Protoge 95 in green. stock rims where a size 13 i put 16 in OZ racing rims and boy did I love that car but not until I bought myself a 93 BMW 3 series did I almost cry when I lost the car lol This was from 17-20

I don't see why people like cars so much. its an expensive hobby to get into (buying parts and shit) and when you think about it, you only need a car to travel to and around you work or house. does anyone really care if someone else has a shit car? when I get my first car im just want something that takes me from A to B and I can care less if I look good doing it

Guess its the same reason some people flaunt wealth. Why do people need gigantic, expensive maintenance mansions? People who win the lottery first thing they do in most cases is buy a mansion, car, etc. How original. Even more stupid is people who waste virtually their whole savings on a flash car. Invest it! One of the first things I would do is look for premium interest. The worst mistake rich people can make is to lose their wealth! Lets not just get footballers into this either like most people do its the case in all major forms of entertainment. I've got nothing against rich people but I definitely wouldn't flaunt wealth pointlessly. Wouldn't even want people to know I had that much money.

As I said on another forum decent cars are a prime vandal (or theft) target from those who are jealous of wealth. I wouldn't own a mansion either being the ultra paranoid individual I am its almost like an invitation to be targeted by gangsters, kidnappers and other criminal extortion groups. Lottery winners who go public should think about stuff like that. A secure penthouse flat would be so much more convenient.

If you want to flaunt excessive wealth buy a football club or something. Least its something to occupy time. Cars and mansions would bore me after about 5 minutes.

Not really an issue here in the states.
I can't remember the last time I saw something on the news regarding car break-ins.
I guess the good and bad thing about the U.S. is classes are separated very well.
I live in Tampa, Florida and I kind of have to go out of my way to get into a 'rough' part of town. Basically would have to do it on purpose.

My first was a black Scooby Doo (Fiesta XR2i) with alloys; loved that car, but the bottom fell out of it one year later.

Drove so many different cars I couldn't possibly list them all, and I regularly drive over 100mph every week - I love driving. Dream car? Dodge Ram Hemi 2500, which I have never driven funnily enough.

Love Top Gear though, F10 - never miss it.

My first car was a Volvo 164e. Wish I still had it, in fact.

Not sure what's going on with all those badges on the grill but they're not standard equipment. Favorite thing: turn signals on the bumpers and giant round headlight fittings. Straight out of the '40s!

Outside of races or race cars (so enforced limitations), they run more production cars on The Nurburgring.

It’s become the big thing for super high end sports cars and exotics. Porsche had the production record for forever, Lambo beat them a little while back. Porsche promptly released a new car and smashed Lambo. Because they are Porsche and they pretty much live to prove they are the smartest engineers in the world.

Just to be clear, the 164e in the photo is a 1971 model. The one I had in the '80s was a 1975, and the next year was the last one for that series. It's not that the car is actually from the '40s, more that the *style* is from the '40s.

I bought the car in the summer, and one freezing cold winter day a few months later I was just driving along and all of a sudden my ass started heating up. Once I was done freaking out I realized the car had heated seats that the seller didn't think to mention. I *still* love that car, even today.
