That doesn't stop Mexico from participating in the tournament. How can they participate if they're also a member of Concacaf?Copa America is run by Conmebol. The U.S. is not a member and can't become one because we're not in South America. We're in Concacaf, for North and Central America.

Is this a North, Central, and South American tournament? I've never understood this tournament's inclusion of Concacaf teams if it's run by Conembol.
What kind of changes? Making it an entire Americas tourney or?It's actually silly. But now that the U.S. soccer market is growing there's been talks about changing things up.

Oh, that's pretty cool. I'll give it a look online.Next year is the first time Copa is being hosted outside of S.A. It's for the 100 year anniversary...I've read that it's also a test to see the response and if it is wildly successful, it may be a vision of the future. Which would be very cool. I bet it is very popular here and if the U.S. has a good showing...we will see it again. But with the recent FIFA indictments there's some problems now. Check it out, just search Copa 2016 and you'll see a lot of the debate and what it's all about.
I see that you are new to the magic of Ray Hudson. Buckle up, as it's a tricky ride.Who the hell is the guy doing the color commentary? This guy seriously needs a cup of shut the fuck up.
Decaf bro, decaf!
Yep. Learned me something tonight. He was mistaken. 2 nations can be invited outside of South America.

And I'm surprised Mexico is playing, going straight from the Copa to the Gold Cup.
More pressure on Mexico to win Gold Cup.I'm pretty sure Jamaica is doing both too.

Will anybody be following Copa America?
La Roja vs. La Tricolor ( Chile vs. Ecuador)
I predict
Chile 1 - Ecuador 2 (Tough game....Chile will dominate but maybe Ecuador gets lucky)
Any more predictions?
OOOOH Victor , I watched the game , rooting for Ecuador , sadly your prediction was not the outcome you and I wished with my heart too.
Well to the next game....
By the way who is your favorite to win the Copa?
As always the favorites are Argentina and Brazil.
In my heart I want Ecuador to win but it's not going to happen.
I am rooting for Uruguay, I love seeing Suarez scoring those goals. I want them to win, but if Argentina or Brazil win, I am ok with that.
Mexico is playing their B-team in the Copa America because they value the Gold Cup more. I guess they enjoy being the dominant force a lot more than being the punching bag.Yep. Learned me something tonight.

I'm going to go with Argentina being favorites to win it. If not Chile who has a golden generation of players.
I think we won't be seeing Suarez because of the ban he has to fulfill (wc issue)
