Frank Lampard Thread

He wasn't going to play for QPR, or Stoke, Sunderland. Man City was easier because they were favorites for the title.

Then why go through the charade of signing with NYCFC? He could have just signed for MCFC. I think the guy thought he was done in the EPL when Chelsea blew him off, and then when he succeeded, he changed his mind and decided to stay the full year.

Again, that still makes him a bastard.

I agree MCFC have nothing to gain by letting him leave early. But what do they really have to lose by letting him leave early? They just brought in Bony which will allow Jovetic to slip back behind the striker again in EPL.

Isn't it all about the UCL right now? They need his homegrown status?

All it would take would be a couple of injuries/suspensions to a couple of their central midfielders, and suddenly the English media's berating MCFC for letting Lampard go and play in America. That's what they have to lose. You don't just let your top players leave early so you can do a favour to a team that 99.9% of your fans don't care about (well, unless you're us...) MCFC decided they want him as part of their squad for the rest of the season, there's no reason why that would change. We have zero leverage here.

The charade allowed him to stay in Chelsea fans good grace. The narrative was that City were "forcing" him to go there and that he had no choice. Cue sad violin music.

Since we are pals, and English is not your first language, allow me:
Frank, stay drunk, you're home. No really. Don't come. We're not joking.

False advertising, I say. Frank just get your ass here ASAP to support the team!

Maybe Frank should try out for the Yankees, I am sure they wouldn't put up with this right, wait they must have?

New York Yankees job opening for Shortstop, abbreviated SS, is the baseball or softball fielding position between second and third base.

A pink shirt under a Yankees Jersey really, it must be a UK thing. Is that Drakkar Noir Cologne I smell?

David Villa Official Legally signing a New York City FC contract. Look at the video you will see it take place in a closed door setting with lawyers as would be expected at a signing.

First Interview with David Villa

And then watch the Frank Lampart signing video, totally suspect and a complete charade and a media photo op.

OMFG. What exactly were they signing if they weren't just scribbling on someone's grocery list? Boy I got over it but now I'm fucking pissed again.

I'm trying to get past it as well, but this stuff is just pissing me off. If he's not playing in important games like CL, then why the hell did they insist on keeping him past the start of the MLS season? Why go through all that and piss all of us off and just make us hate them? I'm starting to wondering if this was all Lampards doing. Maybe he forced CFG to let him stay because he wanted to be in EPL as long as possible. I can't think of any other logical explanation to all this.

He probably wants a chance to win the league at a second club. Nothing would be as great as winning the league with two of the most storied clubs in England, City and Chelsea :p
