Frank Lampard Thread

You would think they would at least make one of Mix not the guy who decided NYCFC wasn't important enough and that he didn't care about the ramifications on our image and reputation. I'll never stop saying this. Shame on you if claim to be a NYCFC fan, not a Manchester fan but you give Frank a hero's welcome. He knew he was just a stopgap for the series of injuries, he wasn't going to be anything more than a bench warmer until the main players would return. He was part of the original farce (making us think he had actually signed here) and didn't care about exposing himself as a liar and fraud. I mean if you gave a shit, you'd try to cover your lie and if you had an out you'd take it. Not taking the out clearly shows what you think.

They have one for Villa too. Pretty sure they made these around/before the fallout.

Let me have this rant.

I plan on giving him a hero's welcome because he's a talented player that will solve a lot of problems for us when he arrives.

OMFG. What exactly were they signing if they weren't just scribbling on someone's grocery list? Boy I got over it but now I'm fucking pissed again.

I dug a little deeper to see and expose the deception on City Owners Group upon us the future NYCFC fans. I wanted you guys to see these videos, and I hope this behavior and bad public relations does not ever continue going forward, we have to hold all the parties accountable and expose their blatant deception upon New Yorkers and the MLS. They under estimated us all and that really ticks me off. But we all need to move forward, again one player does not make a team.

Thanks for checking out the NYCFC videos to see it for yourself.

If Lampart is riding the bench over at MC why is he not here? I can only think of it is strictly about the $.

Man City's Frank Lampard faces fresh concerns over move to MLS

Potential strike action threatens to disrupt the season ahead of the Manchester City midfielder's switch to New York.

Frank Lampard is facing fresh concerns over his move to New York with Major League Soccer players on the verge of strike action.

The Manchester City midfielder will join up with New York City FC in July.

But with the players union in America currently at loggerheads with club owners over rights, there is a very real danger of the season being delayed.

The new campaign kicks off next weekend, with both parties yet to reach agreement.

That will be an embarrassment to the MLS after luring superstar names like Lampard, David Villa and Kaka to the US.

A worst case scenario for Lampard – who angered New York fans over the decision to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium – is that his new career is further disrupted by the dispute.

One source claimed the likelihood of a strike is now 60-40 in favour of action being taken.

The MLS will be desperate to avoid a repeat of the NBA stand off in 2011 that lasted around six months.

The dispute is over the latest collective bargaining agreement, which covers issues such as player wages.

While a rise in the minimum salary is one of the demands being made by the MLS Players’ Union, free agency is the main sticking point.

The MLS runs a pre-Bosman type system where players’ movement is restricted within the US even when out of contract.

Government mediators are trying to resolve negotiations in time for the big kick-off.

While a lengthy strike is seen as unlikely, fans in America are bracing themselves for a delayed start to the season.

Lampard was originally set to join up with City’s sister club New York in January after being unveiled with such fanfare as their star signing last summer.

But such was his impact during his short-term move to the Etihad that Manuel Pellegrini lobbied to keep him with the Premier League champions for the rest of the campaign.

That prompted anger in the US and embarrassment for City in the UK after they had to admit they’d misled supporters over the nature of his signing, which was originally described as a loan.

In fact, Lampard had never signed for New York.

The potential strike is another concern for the 36-year-old as he looks to embark on a fresh challenge at the end of his career.

What BS!

It's not fraud, just a change of plan. Granted one that has pissed people off, I get that. But seriously It'd be fraud If he never turned up. Until then it's not.

Is "Summer" or "June" the most specific terms/dates that have been revealed for FL showing up for NYCFC practice, or has there been offered any statements for a certain week or day?

Because he's never played a single good game for us when he has started, is 36 years of age, and hasn't got anywhere near the legs to compete in a two man midfield for 90 minutes

And, while they haven't realized that it is the Curse yet, they do agree that:

I think the last time he played really well for us was before the big PR fail we had with him. When all the shit in press came up regarding this NYCFC move, not move, loan, not loan, stays not stays etc...

That was right at New Year so two months ago.

Not like the whole team did have a great form since than. But its fair to say if we dont have a veteran Lampard now we are maybe same level on points with Arsenal/MU and even further from Chelsea.

I think I read somewhere that starting on July 1st he's officially a NYCFC player. We probably won't see him in games until mid to the end of the month.

Forget about starting, the guy hasn't even played in many games. He didn't play against Barca, and was subbed in towards the end against Liverpool.
