I think the evidence is that he isn't a player suited to Vieira's style, but that he is a serviceable MLS goalkeeper within certain parameters. Part of the reason he has looked so poor is that his skill set is so ill-suited to what Vieira is looking to do. He has gaffes in his repertoire, but this exacerbates it. Ideally Vieira would want to find someone more comfortable with the ball at their feet, but with the restrictions of the MLS salary cap is that what he'll prioritize? Or will he think he can skate by again? I don't think a deep playoff run will be the actual reason he stays, but it might be used to justify it publicly.
