Yeah. It's a shame, because he's such a strong athlete. I suppose that can only get you so far at the highest level in England. I remember the buzz really picked up on him after the 2014 World Cup but it never really materialized.

- Orlando City SC Majority Owner Flávio Augusto da Silva is nearing the final stages of a sale to an unknown buyer, multiple sources tell SBJ’s Mark J. Burns and Chris Smith. It’s unclear if other assets within the Orlando Sports Holdings LLC portfolio -- which include the NWSL Orlando Pride, USL League One Orlando City B and Exploria Stadium -- would be included in the sale. Sources cautioned that talks could still break down and a deal might not be reached. The potential buyer is believed to be based in North America.
- Orlando joined MLS in 2015 after da Silva paid a $70 million expansion fee. The team has quietly been on and off the market since at least 2018, according to several soccer and finance sources. Finance sources have referred to the long-running sale efforts as one of the worst-kept secrets in sports, and one finance source said that, in 2018, there was a stretch when Orlando was the only major U.S. pro team available.
- Sources have characterized the soccer investment by da Silva as just that -- an investment and business transaction where he could eventually turn a profit. In other words, da Silva wasn’t getting involved in the league for the long-haul.
- In March 2018, da Silva sold down his ownership of the operation, selling an 8.63% stake in Orlando Sports Holdings LLC to investor Albert Friedberg. The transaction valued the entire operation at $490.5 million and left da Silva with a nearly 79% stake. Last year, da Silva publicly floated the idea of a further sell-down to Brazilian publication Estadão.
- Orlando recently had a separate minority transaction where Jed Kaplan, part-owner of the Grizzlies and English second-tier soccer club Swansea City, purchased a LP stake from a former minority owner.
What's the hell is going on in Colorado? They might have had more games cancelled due to Covid than the rest of the league combined since returning from the tournament. All their games through 10/21 are postponed as they sit on 13 games played. Their next scheduled game is 10/24, and Decision Day is November 8. It is effectively impossible that they can play 10 games in 15 days and both have a complete schedule and finish on time. I think their season is forfeit, but I also don't have an answer how to handle all the other teams who will end up with 22 games played because they lost a game against Colorado, unless they just cancel one game for every team in the West and have them all finish with 22 games.
Poor Rapids. One year it's the plague, the next it's a coronavirus. What will strike them down next year?

i wonder if PPG was something that should of been considered, some leagues had it. although with them they still would of been way behind in games and could of inflated the number as well.
I think I saw something a few weeks back to the effect that the League will use PPG if necessary.
thing is that if they just start using like a week before playoffs and colorado kicks someone out of playoffs based on PPG, there is gonna be a team that may be real unhappy. my preference would of been from the start to use current standings and add the PPG column as well so we have an idea where they all stand.
They discussed this on the Extratime pod and I agree with Charlie Davies that it's unfair to teams who played an extremely congested schedule to let another team come in who's arguably more fresh because they got in on PPG after a bunch of cancelled games. If you're going to consider PPG, I think there has to be a minimum threshold of games played at least. There are going to be teams that don't make the cut but that's the world we live in, same as Dallas and Nashville couldn't play in MLS Is Back

1st place team still gets CCL spot and cash prize from MLS. So it’s just a piece of hardware missing, which most fans don’t consider relevant anyway.
Pffft.. i dunno about you but i'd sure as hell be celebrating a supporters shield.
