I understand it is comparing apples to oranges. As Yankees and Mets have to place down and take up new sod for each game, but it is funny the Yankees allegedly charge $1M* for rent per game. Lets just say they have to place approx 10,000 square feet of sod at $30K per game, so labor and rest of cost for the stadium is $980K. *( I believe that this the number one of the Marlins Execs said the Yankees were receiving).
Per the Sun Times. The Fire’s Soldier Field lease is due to expire this year. It requires Mansueto’s team to pay a minimum of $145,000 for operating expenses for games with 15,000 attendees or fewer. The sliding fee scale rises to $162,500 for up to 20,000 fans, and $258,000 for any crowd larger than 35,000.
Morningstar founder Joe Mansueto chose to build his own stadium at The 78 in part because it's the political path of least resistance, though it will require tens of millions in subsidies for utilities to prep the site.

**I am a Met fan so my bashing of the Yankees has to be taken with a grain of salt. But I am still salty about not having the stadium next to Yankee stadium. Queens will be a better atmosphere, but I think you lose some of the potential fans from north of the Tappan Zee Bridge.
