privately funded? good to see
I understand it is comparing apples to oranges. As Yankees and Mets have to place down and take up new sod for each game, but it is funny the Yankees allegedly charge $1M* for rent per game. Lets just say they have to place approx 10,000 square feet of sod at $30K per game, so labor and rest of cost for the stadium is $980K. *( I believe that this the number one of the Marlins Execs said the Yankees were receiving).Chicago building a SSS of their own to open in 2028. seems like a great location too

Per the Sun Times. The Fire’s Soldier Field lease is due to expire this year. It requires Mansueto’s team to pay a minimum of $145,000 for operating expenses for games with 15,000 attendees or fewer. The sliding fee scale rises to $162,500 for up to 20,000 fans, and $258,000 for any crowd larger than 35,000.

Fire plan $650M soccer-only stadium in South Loop's long dormant 'The 78' tract
Morningstar founder Joe Mansueto chose to build his own stadium at The 78 in part because it's the political path of least resistance, though it will require tens of millions in subsidies for utilities to prep the site.chicago.suntimes.com
**I am a Met fan so my bashing of the Yankees has to be taken with a grain of salt. But I am still salty about not having the stadium next to Yankee stadium. Queens will be a better atmosphere, but I think you lose some of the potential fans from north of the Tappan Zee Bridge.
yea. now we just need the revs to pony up a SSS and the league is in pretty good shape stadium wise. ideally atlanta and seattle would do one too but that seems unlikely. portland switching to grass would also be nice, but also not happening.
Unless I just never noticed, they even seem to manage to avoid the confusing lines that can plague New England and Seattle. Apart from the terrible fast and bouncy surface, it's an ideal setup for them.atlanta has no incentive to move and honestly i get it. its in a good location ( from what i read) and you can open up the full stadium for big games plus no need to deal with heat or cold. concessions at good prices too. the turf is ass but there is no need for them to move.

24 minutes door-to-door from my daughter's new apartment in West Loop. I see away matches in Chicago in my future. Just hope they aren't in February.Chicago building a SSS of their own to open in 2028. seems like a great location too
