Vancouver ahead 1-0 against LAFC at banc of california stadium. End to end game, a loss would put LAFC 3 points below the playoff line + at the mersey of RSL and LAG on decision day.

LAFC doesn't play like a team that's in 9th in the west... They could easily be in the top 3 and I would believe it. What happened? so weird.

I still want a Texicali clásico of suck with all six teams missing the play offs being from California or Texas. I just need RSL and LAG to do their parts.

LAG plays Minnesota.
LAFC plays Colorado.

AND RSL plays Portland tonight!!

I think it's a possibility that we see this happen!

---------
Both eastern conference games tonight have been so boring.

Oh trust me I’ve been praying to the soccer gods to make sure RSL doesn’t shit the bed tonight!

6 minutes + stoppage time until we finish above RB and need one point to finish above ATL! Couldn't have asked for a more boring game.

...Meanwhile, Montreal beating houston (unsurprising), which now puts then on 46. And they play Orlando on Sunday.

We are very VERY close to the scenario I postulated on the last page. If Montreal beat Orlando and RB win, Orlando will miss the playoffs on 48 points. Absolute madness!

--EDIT-

IT'S OVER!!!!!!!!!

We finish, barring a crazy goal swing, above the red bulls, and ned one point to top Atlanta.
Montreal beats Orlando and RB gets at least one point, and Orlando are out of the playoffs!
Alternatively, Montreal beats Orlando and RB lose, RB are out of the playoffs.
Past that, DC could also top red bulls, and columbus technically can but very long shot.

Looking to standings of a different kind.

Here are the leaders for the Golden Boot.
  1. Castellanos: 18g, 8a
  2. Kamara: 17g, 5a
  3. Ruidiaz: 17g, 1a
  4. Salloi: 16g, 8a
  5. Buksa: 16g, 4a
  6. Mukhtar: 15g, 12a
  7. Bou: 15g, 9a
  8. Kreilach: 15g, 9a
  9. Russell: 15g, 8a
  10. Chicharito: 15g, 3a
Castellanos is sitting in pretty good shape because of his high number of assists. Even if he doesn't score on Sunday, Kamara and Ruidiaz each need 2 goals to pass him, and Salloi would only tie with 2 goals.* The rest would need a hat trick or more. Mukhtar could pass with a hat trick.

If Taty gets one goal on Sunday, then he would be very hard for anyone to catch.

---
* - This assumes neither Salloi nor Taty end up with any assists. Also, I don't know whether there is a tiebreaker beyond assists.

I believe minutes/games played is the next tie breaker? I know that's how it works in some of the other leagues.

So much for proven scorers. To be fair, though, Vela and Martinez were out for significant parts of the season and I have no doubt they'd be up in numbers if they had the full time.

Fair enough, although why they had Martinez on there at all, let alone as the front runner, is mystifying.
He was injured going into the season, right? Idk. But the power rankings went into great fun over how the pundits were giving so much greatness narrative to LAFC and ATL. (Though tbf, seeing LAFC see play I think the only reason they are in their current position is because they leave their defense so open, it's as if bradley plays them in a 0-5-5 sometimes)
