General MLS Discussion

That's a win for the rest of the Eastern Conference. Replacing a top team with an expansion team should mean some easier points next year.

as the year went on i just assumed the east is just bad, and any team that is at least OK would do well in the east this year. every team was limited or in a streak of bad results with the exception of NE. i mean we can still technically surpass nashville going into last week and we were terrible for some parts of the season. They didnt separate themselves from the pack like other teams do.

in the west you still had seattle, KC, and even teams like minnesotta are solid, colorado was surprising to be that high i think.

as for easy points, the conference had cincy and that was basically the same thing.

I'm guessing NY teams, Minnesota, Chicago, etc will have to start with a string of road games until late March. Mid April for CHI and MINN.
This will be interesting to see. There aren't enough "warm weather" teams for to entirely avoid the northern venues until Spring, but I would be they will at least try and keep the games in the north to a minimum at the start of the season.

We have historically done our home opener around March 10, so I would bet on the first two games being on the road, then weekend of March 12 for the home opener.

As a neutral go watch the highlights/ last 15 minutes of the RSL/SKC game. If you think the ref in our game was bad… someone should lose their fucking job in Kansas City tonight. I would be livid if I was a Sporting fan. But as an RSLer on the side, the late match winner by Damir was pretty fucking awesome due to all the drama of decision day.

I was watching the Fox feed of LA-Minnesota. That game was absurd. Back and forth and lots of goals. Then, Minnesota misses a penalty to go up with about 10 minutes left. LA is trying to find that goal that gives them security - and then it's announced that RSL scored at the death. Perfect Decision Day drama.

I can't help myself with all the fawning over LAFC the last couple years by the MLS pundits.

it worked with atlanta and tried it with LAFC. I think they wanted to do it with Miami but that failed right off the start. I dont know if Charlotte will be the same, i feel they will be like nashville rather than atlanta/ lafc

Or Vela comes back from injury, they get a replacement for Rossi, and they're back off to the races.

people seem to think vela is gone, but who knows really. the extra money is probably running out so they may have to start thinking on spending less.
