General MLS Discussion

Brutal blow for Atlanta and the USMNT. Also note that two ATL players have now blown their Achilles on the Benz turf.
Interesting, but clusters happen. And they've played there 5 seasons before this year and I presume this is the first time they had multiple Achilles injuries (or Wahl would have mentioned that).

Still not as heinous as playing on grass in a baseball field ;)

i find it amusing that gonzalo higuain barely gets any minutes anymore. and it's not like anyone can say "that's a stupid american coach who doesn't know how to use him" cause it's neville. they will be happy to offload him and his salary after this season, I bet.

I wonder has he scored any where he walks the ball into goal as it hits off his entire body and he crashes into the back of the net like the Kool-Aid guy? Because those were my favorite Tommy Mac goals.
didn't he do that against us not that long ago?

It hasn't been going well for Timbers fans snarking on NYCFC this weekend on Reddit:

Come on. That was a great goal. He showed the most hustle. He was there for the header ahead of the guy nursing a massive head wound. He got kicked in the face for his troubles. Plus, his beautiful flowing locks were all asunder at the end.
Pre-Thor Walker Zimmerman, Kid N Play Callens and baby-faced Maxi. Those were the days.

it is crazy to me that the highest paid MLS player right now is shaquiri (8m). if NYCFC signed him for that much, i would absolutely lose all faith in the club and their decision making. what the hell are chicago thinking!?

chicarito is #2 at 6 mill, but at least you know if you give him chances, he'll find goals.

the other mind blown moment is altidore still gets 4 mill... INSANITY.

i think i read that the amount most likely includes the buyout toronto did

The original yellow card was overturned to a red after video review.
Salloi got a red? Good. That was intentional violent play, and it ignited the incident. Esteves also deserved red for the shove. I didn't see the hands/face footage but nobody seems to dispute that anyway. Trusty's second yellow also was fair, and the tackle of Tzionis that set Salloi off was clean-ish and probably no-call was correct.
