Disappointing result last time, but that came right at the point of our lowest ebb. Now we're doing a whole lot better, we've got our mojo going and we can climb above the only team from New Jersey with a win.

Game is on the 28th. Kick-off is at 5pm. Venue is the home of the world's greatest (and I don't mean the Yankees). Be there and let's make it count.

I'm hoping for at least 45k this game. Let's show everyone what color New York really is! Is the TR doing a tifo for this game?

Quite a different situation headed into this match. NJ was looking hot early in the year because they played an interesting style, which, as I predicted in an earlier thread, would eventually get figured out by the opponents and they would struggle. As predicted, NJ has been struggling since, while we have a four game unbeaten streak going! It's a whole different perspective this weekend!
We also have the scheduling advantage, with NJ having to deal with midweek matches before and after our clash. We should have everyone good to go with the likely exception of AJ, who will likely be suspended for the elbow.
Right now we are the better team and we should expect the full three points, but it will be a very intense match.

It's not looking good for 45k. It appears they have only opened a small stretch of the 300-400 levels, much less than they opened for the opener. We're looking at high 30's I think, unless the run up leads to a bunch of sales. The lower levels are sold though, so the atmosphere should be intense!

Yes, TR is doing a TIFO. I know some guys were working on it this weekend

We'll have 7 days rest to their 3, we are at home, and we are trending up while they are trending down.

Despite all that, I feel like the wind in our sails will have to run out sometime. I'll be happy enough with a draw. Red Bulls starting XI is still more talented than ours (for now...)

I'm pretty sure they're opening each section at a time so they don't have people scattered around the entire upper deck of the stadium. I heard a few days ago that the ticket sales are better for this game than they were for the opener so that should mean we'll get over 40k. As of today, there are over 37k sold there's a good chance we'll be able to break our previous record. Regardless of what the number is though, the stadium is still going to be electric.

The only Tifo we would need for this game is this Jay-Z lyric:

"What the hell have y'all done?
…to even have an opinion on what I've be doing
What the hell have y'all won?
…Only thing you can identify with is losing"

I'm sure we can throw in a 20 years no cups somewhere too.

So I ran into a fairly friendly red bull fan Saturday night while I was out celebrating our win and he did something a lot of their fans do that I don't quiet understand. He continually referred to the team by the old Metro stars name, after some banter he held up his scarf and shouted your going down next weekend, go METRO STARs. From this encounter and others I have had with the "Metrostars" crowd I have two questions:

1. Do the fans of that crappy team owned by an energy drink company really think its okay to just not acknowledge the red bull name because they don't like it and just stick with the old name? Is this common? Seriously if you don't like the red bull situation that much maybe they would reconsider who they support. It's like when a kid puts their fingers in there ears and yells I can't hear you when they don't want to listen.

2. Do any of their rivals have songs/chants that make fun of them for this? Can anyone more clever than I am come up with a song/chant we can use to call them out on this? The funniest part is that Metro stars might be one of the worst sports names ever and they are clinging to it. The only thing dumber was when they called them the NY/NJ metro stars, notice no ones hanging on to that part of the naming history.

Bunch of loons.

One of Pirlo's longest running nicknames was/is Metronome, there may be a clever way to play off of that.

I'm sure there's a collection of Yankee fans that still refer to the team as the Highlanders, or even the Baltimore Orioles. They probably all have tombstones though in their name.

I know plenty of people who's high school or college's have changed their team names from somethign Indian related to something more PC over the last decade or so who still refer to them by the old, supposedly offensive name. When the Redskins change their name, I guarantee you will still see plenty of RedSkins gear in their stadium and people using the name 10 years later.
