so what we do in back line? Hountondji is still hurt i assume. improvise again moving sweat into CB and put mata on left?

or they go with Ibeagha?
I think the footedness of CB is a big thing for PV. I don't think we see Sweat at CB unless something happens to Callens. I had the same thought as Ulrich Ulrich about Houtondji's fitness. I would wager we see Ibeagha and Callens with Houtondji on the bench.

I think the interesting matchup is going to Tinnerholm vs. Cole as two attacking fullbacks play each other on the same side.

Not just Tinner/Cole, but their entire left side versus our right side. Cole/Boateng like to push hard as does Medina/Tinner, so transition is gonna be crazy and the first to blink may get caught behind the break. Also key will be the DMids shifting to cover, and I have more faith in Ring filling space than Kitchen. Also, a 37yo Cole is not the guy I’d want defending Medina or Tinner if there’s a footrace - we should have an advantage on any breakouts or through balls. Should.

Love that last part about City Beats -- they do a good job pre-game enhancing the walk-in atmosphere, gives it a big-game feel. So party under the subway tracks with the supporters, then party with City Beats -- the party never ends!

Alessandrini is one of the most underrated players in the league IMO. I like the guy of course as being ex L'OM but I very much hope he's out this week. LAG have a lot of talent and I think a lot of people were underrating them as team as well because they had an ( extremely rare) shit season last year. However we don't suck ourselves so I'm not quaking in my boots but it should be a very even match and one of the handful of times where I don't think we have the definitive edge in on field talent.

This is a level of precision that even Andrew Das could love.

Alex Callens better be on his best behavior.

And the shitty referees just keep on coming. Elfath singlehandedly fucked up last season when he came on in CLB because Alan Kelly was sick. No you can’t make that up.

MLS/Pro have seriously flawed refs that make the game about them and not the play on the field. I like refs that enforce rules when warranted, but I loathe the egos that demand total respect from players while influencing the matches with uneven calls.

I’d like to think/hope that the Yankees professional grounds crew has covered the entire field due to today’s storm. If they value their precious sod, a full cover is the way to go and should be expected. Should be....

The grounds crew at the Stadium is very good, they'll have the field ready. It won't be perfect, and it might not look good, but it'll be as playable as can be four days after a foot of snow falls. Hopefully much of it will melt in the stands by then -- we're supposed to be in the 40's rest of the week, so we should get ample melting.

The Yankees don’t send us their best grounds people. Some of them are rakists ...
