Jack Harrison to Manchester City - Official

This report says the offer is now $7 million, with incentives pushing it to a potential of $10 million. NYCFC still holding out for more.

Unless the rules change, this is pretty pointless for our budget.
Makes one wonder if rule changes are gonna be announced with any sale grandfathered in?

If not, wonder if MLS has a hand in it to hold out as long as possible to set a new benchmark?

Or, maybe Harrison is getting fidgety over Stoke when hearing other teams are taking more interest? Of West Ham, Stoke, and Leicester, Leicester seems the most appealing regarding EPL table security.

3M --> 4.5M ---> 6M --> 7M. Hmm, down round in the newest offer.

Unless the rules change, this is pretty pointless for our budget.

Pointless for the salary budget and pointless for our budget are two very different things. NYCFC will get at least $500,000 extra for every $1 million they can add onto the sale price. That's money that can go to very good use around the club -- and money that will, hopefully, go towards continuing to develop the academy.

Don't think for a moment that MLS doesn't have a hand in the asking price. 50% of $7 Million is $3.5 Million. That pays for a lot Caleb Carr mini-documentaries.

Yeah, what does MLS even do with that money? Dividends to investor-operators?

We are getting close to record territory for an outward transfer from MLS.

Right now, that's Jozy Altidore to Villareal for $10 million in 2008.*

Would be very nice to have the all time most valuable transfer be a guy we developed.

* - Transfermarket has it at £5.85 million, which was $11.5 million in 2008, but most media reports just say $10 million, and it's doubtful this was documented in GBP.

So, you're saying a historic transfer fee?
