Letter To Cfg And Nycfc

you got it, buckO

so the kid is writhing and screaming for no reason? I can't imagine you'd hear the clicking of a taser over that and the surrounding noise - you can choose to not believe it happened, but on all of the social media forums, you're the only one I've seen questioning it
I haven't watched the video and don't plan on it honestly. However, we've been told since the beginning of the season to stop doing smoke bombs and a number of other things and a certain group of people still continues to go out of their way to do it. Just so happens that some of those individuals were involved in this as well. I feel bad for no one.

Ok I've had enough of this. No one was tasered. Period. Enough of the lies.

I'm curious. You seem to have information that hasn't been posted. If that guy wasn't tased, what exactly did happen? This isn't a sarcastic reply to prove anyone wrong. If there is some information you have, please share.

I've seen and listened to the tiny clip a few times...There was no SOUND of a taser at all. If he actually was tasered, the electric current would've transferred to the person still holding onto his leg, shocking him as well. And he would've been stiff as a board. Hence, he was NOT tased.

Where are the taser markings on the guys shirt and/or chest?

Did he go to the hospital or did an ambulance show up to make sure he's ok?

Again, not trying to wind you up, just being objective. The video was shot with a shitty cell phone camera and only a small clip was shot. Taser markings on his shirt? I can't even make out the details on the faces of anyone there, much less the probes being shot from a taser. If he was tased, the clip wasn't long enough to see the probes, even if that cell phone camera in motion could catch it. And hear it? Its not that loud to begin with and with the stadium noise and people shouting, I doubt that cell phone could pick up the noise. As for the gentleman holding the legs of the kid being shocked? That isn't how tasers work. They are made so officers restraining a person don't feel the shocks or feel little shock and can still restrain and safe guard the person being tased. Please see this video of law enforcement in training. It shows multiple officers being tased as part of training. The officers being tased are being held on each arm by two other officers for support, while they are being tased.

So, AGAIN ... this is just an objective posting by someone who would generally like to know what happened here and what can I expect the next time I bring my children to the bleachers to support my team.

Yeah. I've heard the same criticism a few times now. It's entirely fair.

I'm not a professional writer and I can certainly see now where I could have been more narrow in the message. The point I was trying to make is that we have been promised/led to believe a lot of things and not much has come to fruition. We, as supporters, have done everything we can to hold up our end of the deal. All we have gotten in return are unwarranted ejections, wrongful ejections and abuse of power from Securitas employees who are often escalating situations they should be de-escalating. All of that on top of a poor product.

I apologize for missing the mark. I will work on my writing and improve going forward.

Did the taser situation motivate this letter? I wasn't there, but from what I've read from eyewitnesses is that the dude who got tasered was fighting and wasn't listening to the cops. If that's the case, then the dude deserved it. You folks can't get wasted and act like clowns and not listen to the cops and then bitch when they set you all straight. I'm obviously generalizing here, and I know there are more good seeds than bad in TR, but you folks also need to be respectful of the security personal and the cops. Show them that you're not a bunch of troublemakers and I guarantee you things will improve.

Very well said. This shit has to stop with abusing our fans, aka their fans, for no apparent reason. I have seen a handful of videos or heard about incidents where NYPD assaults fans for no apparent reason. THIS HAS GOT TO STOP!

You can't honestly believe this. I have a hard time believing that cops are walking around the stadium and randomly picking fans to abuse. That's just nonsense. I've been to almost every game and I've never once had a cop bother me. Some folks in the SS area are clearly out of control and don't seem to want to follow the rules, so the cops deal with it. It's their job. How long did it take them to stop with the smoke bombs? They're just asking for trouble.

I agree. The only thing to really consider here if tasing the guy was absolutely necessarily. Was it the appropriate level of force used based on the officers training and the situation they faced? No one here can say. I won't judge the officers or security without knowing the facts. My only concern is the safety of the supporters and staff as a whole. That being said, if you act like a shithead, you're asking to be removed from the game and I support it. I just want to enjoy the game and support my club. Don't we all?

I'll sum this up quickly since I'm short on time:

- security asks one gentleman to leave. He doesn't want to and acts up so the cops are called. Still doesn't want to leave and is under arrest but fights to be placed in cuffs. Kid jumps into the pile, slaps a cops hand and is also arrested. Kid also refuses to place in cuffs (A LOT), so the Sgt comes with a taser, and Says taser, but does not discharge a shock. Kid freaks out initially, but finally complies and is cuffed without being shocked.

- Not all teasers are made the same exact way. That particular taser has a very loud charge I guarantee you will hear. Also notice the officer move away while the security still holds the kids leg. That's because with that particular taser the current will travel through multiple people.

- Finally I know people that weren't affiliated with the SG that were there that said no one was tasered. I stand by this 100% and won't comment further. It should never have come to this, but some people can't act like adults and just enjoy a game. But then bitch, while and moan when action needs to be taken. We are guests at Yankee Stadium. Act like it.

Is there no regularly scheduled meetings or communications that take place between the FO and TR? I think that would have been the best place for this to be raised initially and then go public with complaints if not taken seriously. If an ongoing defined method for dialogue between club and supporters doesn't currently exist then it should be your highest priority.

Is the kid related to CP_Scouse 's son?

This is my first post on here (I mainly just read what is posted to get info) but since I find some of your posts to be totally inaccurate I feel the need to correct the problem. First, I am a TR member, but only joined to be able to buy seats in the section. I don't feel any particular allegiance to the group such that I wouldn't be able to criticize it (eg. the smokebomb issue is stupid. I can't believe that people insist on setting things off in violation of the stadium rules, NYS laws and, from what I have read MLS rules, and then complain when they are taken out, just dumb). Though I will say I think Rox is doing a much better job than the guys who ran the group in the start of the season.

With all that said, I was about 10 feet from the altercation at the top of the stairs. I left the bleachers after the go-ahead goal out of frustration with the team (and to be able to get to the exit quickly), but couldn't pull the trigger and actually leave (I'm a sucker I know). I was standing at the top of the bleachers, to the right of the stairs between sections 236 & 237. Shortly after I got up there a commotion started down in the supporter's section. At some point, one individual seemed to be escorted out by security and was yelling back towards the section (I wasn't paying close attention at this point because I was still watching the game, and it was a run of the mill fan ejection). Then more security and NYPD quickly went down into the supporter's section and returned carrying the individual in the video and and an older gentleman wearing black. Now, I want to be clear that I didn't see what these guys did to get kicked out (and full disclosure I have seen the older gentleman act inappropriately on numerous occasions, including cursing at Securitas employees, so if I had to guess these guys did something that warranted an ejection). When they got to the top of the stairs, the NYPD and Securitas individuals put the kid in the video on the ground (they didn't slam him to the ground, but didn't exactly gently place him there either). He was laying on the ground on his back and looked to be trying to sit up when he DEFINITELY got tasered (you mention the noise, I heard that from where I was standing). Now the concerning issue to me isn't the ejection, its really the use of the taser. Having seen the moments immediately leading up to the use of the taser (though not the beginning of the altercation), the kid wasnt trying to fight the police or escape. He was really just trying to sit up.

So I take issue with saying the taser wasnt used. It definitely was. I tend to agree that we are guests in Yankee Stadium and should act accordingly, but in this instance I think the NYPD acted inappropriately in using the taser. There was no need for it.

I agree with the shoddy stadium staffing although I doubt there's much CFG could do about it, probably just inane stadium policies. I sat in the posh comfy seats in the first tier for the first time and there was a militant jobsworth manning our section. We were in the very back row, chanting and cheering for over an hour, then part way through the second half, stepped behind the seat to eat some fries (still occasionally reaching back to our seats for beer). After moving back to the seat (all this within about 6 feet) the guy marches over demanding to see our tickets.

Then later the same guy was yelling at people and bringing in supervisors to deal with people shouting too much, or sitting in the right section but the wrong seats. Just chill out and let people enjoy the game already.
