Obviously this will have no bearing whatsoever on my support for MCFC, but I can fully understand how the New York guys feel here.
However you view the support (passionate, plastic, nothing to support (yet)) whatever, the Lampard situation should never have been allowed to get close to this far.
That said, something I have not seen mentioned, IF MCFC held Lampards contract, was the idea that we loaned him to New York thus generating income ?
I didn't see this coming, and those following NYCFC based upon Lampard do have a right to be disappointed (The argument about what a fan is, is something completely different and off this particular topic).
Yes I want what is best for MCFC, but that is in both the short and long term, and Short term I dont think this has done us any favours. long term we need to see how it pans out.
But to the "fans" who are crying about disrespecting the MLS, I could not give a fuck about the league, or how other fans of clubs in the league perceive our issue. Support is about a team not a league.
What Don Gruber says, or Dave Richards (whose name I have just had to google) is 100% irrelevant.
I get the American view that the current situation has little to do with Lampard and more to do with security in the future. Whilst MCFC (via CFC) might be the parent, I would expect my parents to honour there word (even if it is through insinuation)
