But being serious... I don't really know. I mean I know Orlando wants us to be one but honestly after that first game when we were all waiting and excited it was just another game. I think Toronto is more of a rival then Orlando. Both teams were very aggressive and went after each other.

Being 100% serious, Toronto.

Those games looked like rivalry games. Every time we played TFC it was aggressive, mean, and just a little bit ugly. Which is exactly what a rivalry game should look like.

Red Bull energy drink company is our rival by circumstance, Toronto is our rival of choice.

After our first year,( assuming we don't make playoffs) who do you think emerged as our biggest rivals.

Don't count the Red Bulls.
Team-wise (other than the Red Bulls), we don't have one yet. Over time, some will develop, either due to location, some dirty play that causes an injury, physicality, standings, etc. Time will tell.

TBH, nobody. You have to piss someone else off for them to care about you, and you can't do that by losing.

Toronto is the closest, but to call it a rivalry now is setting the bar really low for a rivalry. It's a start though. I could definitely see a Leafs-Pigeons rivalry becoming among the biggest in the Eastern Conference, given that our two teams will likely have the highest payrolls and therefore biggest stars. But it will take 3-5 years and a couple key matchups before that happens.

Here's another vote for Toronto.

I will admit however that nothing would please me more than finishing ahead of Orlando; if for no other reason than it would be a kick in the nuts to that cowardly, Disney Trash, wannabee fan base.

I would rename this thread our shit list

  • Red Bulls
  • Toronto FC (team we play hard and don't like)
  • New England Revolution (they are form New England so Fuck'em)

Nobody stands out to me, other than Red Bulls. I could see LA Galaxy being a rival down the line, although they'll play so infrequently it's hard to say. Linked because they're the two biggest cities, star-laden teams.

Red Bulls fans are insistent that NYCFC are far behind their other rivals in terms of importance. I say give it 5 or 10 years. Hard to ignore the other team in your city, no matter how much/how long they've hated DC.

I noticed a lot of tension between NYCFC & Montreal when we played. Perhaps Montreal plays dirty against everyone but I would add them as #3.

1- Red Bulls - nuff said.
2- Orlando City - the fans are what fuels this budding rivarly. Can feel the energy between supporters groups for expansion superiority.
3- Montreal - the most tension and dirty play I've seen from one of our games so far.

I'm going to speak for myself, I don't feel it for me or really anyone else no one really cares about Orlando

Yup Montreal are a bunch of flopping pussies which is exactly why it makes it easy to hate them and rival consideration.

Toronto for sure, I also don't think Orlando is really a rivalry, there was an attempt to manufacture one but it doesn't exist.
