Interesting development. One thought I had is that MLS gave us the permanent international spot that Chivas USA acquired in 2004. X-Files: MLS.

interesting if true...though why us an not orlando? was this also another envelope fiasco ?
It's a CFG thing. All due respect, that's not true at all. The NFL is cryptic, but the NBA, NHL, and MLB are all generally very open and descriptive about injuries. NHL stops being descriptive during the playoffs, but -- for example -- the NY Rangers give complete injury information all the time. NBA teams are painfully specific regarding injury updates, as are MLB teams. They all give specific timetables on almost all injuries, unless they simply don't know.
This is an NYCFC thing. Perhaps it's an MLS thing. If it is, I do believe the team and the league should be more open. By the way, this isn't a mellennial thing for me -- I work in journalism, I believe in open information.
As for the roster spot:
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Maybe this trade included an international spot that we won't find out about until JulyWe need another intl spot. Maybe we trade TAM for it.
