Orlando Fires Coach Adrian Heath

Guy had been with th franchise since before it was MLS. He was really hamstrung this season by injuries and poor off season moves.

I admit I didn't follow them closely but I always thought of Orlando as a team who overachieved with sub-par talent, and I gave a lot of credit to Heath for that, so I'm a little surprised by this.

I'm going to agree. For all the problems they have there, he hasn't seemed to be the problem and he seems a decent enough fellow, so I feel bad for him.

For the most part I don't care one way or another.

On the other hand, as a person who admits to being very easily entertained, I find it quite amusing the more authentic than thou, #BUILT-NOT-BOUGHT schmucks have taken a triple Moe Howard eye poke.

Meddling ownership, reports they're ready to spend big in the transfer market, and now a fired coach.

Yeah, their off-season front-office house-cleaning was the impetus for this season's dumpster fire. Heath was lucky to survive the purge and was never on stable footing to achieve success afterwards. And maybe there's more to it than we know - just like the Kries locker room problems that finally materialized after the season?

Heath's record with Orlando City can't possibly be what got him fired. He's had to deal with a lot there, e.g. injuries to key players (Kaká can't seem to stay healthy, for instance), poor personnel decisions (Nocerino signing was never the right move/fit and was forced on him), front office upheaval, etc. The former owner Phil Rawlins (who is still the President but mainly just a talking head with no power at this point) has lost out to the new Brazilian owner Flavio Augusto da Silva and he's been bringing in a lot of his own guys. I'm surprised Heath lasted this long to be honest. The team's recent poor form is just an excuse to make the change now.

Surprised to see him go, agree with what others have said that he seemed to get decent results out of a sub par team. From an NYCFC perspective and for the general watchablity of our games against them my hope is the next coach moves away from park the bus to a more open style of play.

He did that against us because they got a garbage goal a few minutes in and saw a specific opportunity, but that wasn't his/their normal style. They were 4th worst in goals against last year and sit in the same spot this year. They have a lot of last minutes wins and a lot of last minute concessions. They generally attack attack attack. New coach will probably be expected to be more defensive minded.

My buddy had a magnet. Removed it for him lol

As a Florida guy myself, I always had a soft spot for Orlando and had been really happy to see their attendance figures and their success getting a good stadium.

Then I witnessed the behavior of two Orlando City fans in my section the last time they were up here...

Their fans have no class whatsoever. I'm sure they're not all like that but seems like the minority make the majority look bad. Goes back to when they beat up minors at a rowdies game. Another one of their guys hat had one of the bigger podcasts made light of Charleston shooting following the tournament. And so on

I believe that NYCFC is the straw that broke the camels back in MLS. LA and Seattle are powerhouses that will spend to win. The East has generally been... not that. NYCFC comes in, splashes the cash (in a baseball stadium no less) and is sitting atop the conference. That's troubling for other teams in the East and they have to adjust or lose a lot of money (provided we keep winning).

We knew from the beginning that CFG was a good match for us because of their brand vision and ability to spend to support that vision. Here's hoping that they keep pushing, we keep winning and this league becomes a destination because of it.
