As much as it looked like LAFC was boat racing Atlanta, the last 3 of LA’s 4 goals were all checked by VAR, and there is a good case that 2 of them should not have stood.

Still, they gave back that good fortune on the own goal.

A very fun game overall. I guess the result is good for us since we aren’t catching LA, and therefore need to stay up on Atlanta.

I think the penalty was bullshit. The one foul inside the box looked like a dive. The one foul outside the box looked more like a foul. Still, should have been a free kick.

And those goals looked more offside than onside, especially the 2nd one.

Watching Portland - LAG. Any reason why some
Portland fans are giving the finger to the camera when it's on them? I've seen it a few times and the camera quickly cuts away.

This week worked out really well for us standings wise:

We won
ATL lost
PHI lost
DC drew
NJ lost (at home)

We’re now 4 points out of first with 4 games in hand. 1 point out of second with 3-4 games in hand. 1 point ahead of 5th place with 3 games in hand.

Great stuff!

We are also 2nd in the Supporters' Shield by PPG - just ahead of Seattle. Also, we are tied with LAFC for fewest losses at 3, and while we haven't had as many chances to lose (i.e. fewer games played), the teams immediately behind us have 6 losses (Seattle and DC).

I keep waiting for Toronto to get their act together and start climbing the table. Maybe the below Altidore goal will get them going, although only beating Cincy 2-1 at home doesn't particularly impress.
