Has anyone watched "The English Game" also recently released on Netflix?
Yeah, I quite enjoyed it. Thought to be fair they focused more on class struggle than actual footy. But, nevertheless they did a good job showing how the early game progressed tactically on occasion. It also was very formulaic, but that's TV for you. I'd very much enjoy a 2nd season of it focusing on the establishment of professional football teams across the country, and I have a feeling that's the plan if they get picked up for a season 2.

I just finished watching The Society on netflix. It's a Sci Fi thing a little bit Lost a little bit Under the dome though it's an all Teen cast so not sure if that'd be up too many people on here's alley.

I'm also working on The Affair on showtime now that it's all wrapped up (ran for 5 seasons) I'm a couple eps into season 2 I think it's solid.

Giri/Haji on Netflix. 1 season. 8 episodes. Split between Japan and London. If Sopranos was a little more slasher and Japanese. Fuckin spectacular.

Agreed- loved it- I liked that there was character development for even those lightly sketched at the start

My wife and I just finished.

First, if you live in a household where some people like soccer and others like Downton Abbey (or if you singularly like both), this is your show.
Second, I agree about the limited coverage of the game, but I knew going in it wasn't really about that, and they did cover it somewhat to the extent they could tie it to the class issues.
Third, I appreciated seeing how soccer managed to work through and resolve the professional/amateur issue, which contrasts to rugby (which I don't think was mentioned at all in the series, or at most in passing), where the same issue completely split the sport with separate governing bodies and even different playing rules. I realize the soccer account in the series is fictionalized and multiple specific facts are not true as presented, but in broad strokes I think they got it right. Just don't expect that any particular detail is true as seen in the show.
Fourth, there's a character named Monkey Hornby, who I looked up because, really, Monkey Hornby? And he's a real person and kind of interesting. In real life, soccer was his third best sport, as he was captain of both the cricket and rugby national teams for England.

Space Force. Amazing.

Upload. Okay.

Good Witch. A Hallmark Channel show if you need to feel uplifted about the spirit of humanity and community.

Space Force: Sucked, or at least very disappointing. Has so much potential, towards the last few episodes we joked it would be so much better if they just turned it into 60 year old virgin.

Upload: Funnier than Space Force, it'll get another season, but overall maybe 6.5 out of 10.

Good Witch: I won't watch that.

Halt and Catch Fire is on Netflix. It was an AMC Network show from 2014 to 2017 about the rise of the personal computer. I'd give it a 9/10.

Upload was better than space force. Just not funny. Hunters was good but not sure how the second season will be.

You know Amazon is a dangerous monopoly when your three year old is extremely excited that "ALEXA IS HERE.....DADDY ALEXA IS HERE" when a branded amazon van rolls up to the house!

We don't even have any ALEXA devices in the house, her daycare has one for music time. She hasn't been in daycare in 3 months now.

BREAK UP AMAZON

*but still make sure somebody can deliver what I want in a day or two. Don't break that up!

Didn't know where else to post my random thoughts.

Question About Man In The High Castle
I've gotten through the first episode of Season 2, and need to know one thing before I decide whether to keep going: is the whole phenomenon of the alternate realities crossing into each other via black and white movie reels ever adequately explained? Or do we just have to keep accepting it as a thing that simply happens?

Mini-Review
The Boys - Amazon Prime

Recommended multiple times here.
Worth watching, though it gets a little lost somewhere midway before getting back on track. Also, the first season does not really resolve any story lines.
One featured character dies, but was not really central to any key plot line.
I know they wanted to leave openings for Season 2, so obviously the good guys can neither win nor be fully defeated, but I would have preferred some resolution, like maybe if the good guys accomplished something, anything truly positive along the way? The best thing are the characters on the good team. They're much more interesting and engaging than the villains/superheroes, or even the helpful superheroes.
