Am I crazy to think that given we're in a "transition" year and not terribly likely to compete for a top spot in the East we should actually prioritize the USOC as much as we are able to?

Remember last year when Vieira was like "this year we're gonna try in the open cup!"
No, but I remember how we chose not to have the opportunity to play any home games no matter how far we got in the Cup.
iirc last year YS was available and we did apply to host, i dont think we would of gone to fordham, banned, because of what happened vs the cosmos like three years ago.
Last year we were the only MLS club to say we would not host US Cup games -- every year prior to that we were in the mix for home games (game).
They did two rounds of the draw at once, so the commitment was to host either or both of the first two rounds we played.
i stand corrected. I know there was year we applied to host but didnt because RB was drawn at home. maybe im confusing it with the cosmos games draw

That's a drag. It would be cool if they did a tour around NYC's stadiums for the open cup. Like Ichan Stadium, MCU Park, Wien Stadium, etc.
Would be a headache coordinating all that though.
i believe Ichan and Wien are not even wide enough ( ironic i know) and its not even close to what we have in YS. They would have to add sod or something around it to make it wide enough.
Not unexpected but still a great development for the US Open Cup. Its a cool tournament that so many American fans of soccer know nothing about. I will be watching more games.

FINALLY! It's been so bush league finding the streams and even working hacks to get the USOC website stream to show up on the TV. Now maybe we can win one match...
i LOVE this. i like the tournament and history of it.

This will be the first year I will not attend our U.S. Open Cup match, unless it's held at Yankee Stadium or Central Park.
