2016 Mls College Superdraft

I think the player can decide not to sign a homegrown contract and enter the draft. I'm guessing that is what "denied" means. But this is just speculation.

You are correct. Someone did that to NYRB last year I believe. Rumor is that R.J. Allen's brother will do the same if he doesn't go overseas.

Actually I've read that MLS denied it because Rosenberry wasn't in the Philly academy long enough. It happens.

if we sign texiera maybe we go for a skilled, speedy winger/forward like abu danladi or we go after a left back like brandon vincent. Danladi can give us a fast outlet in attack that we sorely missed last season.

This wouldn't be the worst 11 to have.

---Poku----Lampard-------Danladi--
----------Pirlo----Mix--------------
--Wingert-------------------Iraola--
---------Mena-------Texiera------
--------------Saunders--------

I'm slowly coming around to Poku playing as a wide player. Wouldn't be the WORST thing in the world. I do think it hurts us, but I would rather have him out there than not out there.

I want him wide left so he can get the ball on his right foot coming back from the touchline.

What's up with Jack Harrison? Former Gatorade Player of the Year. He is/isn't an NYCFC homegrown player.

I get where you are going here, but if I had my choice to upgrade let's say Shelton on the wing or Wingert at LB, I'd upgrade Wingert.

We don't know where Shelton's ceiling is. I'm pretty sure we've seen Wingert's.

With the semi-finals tonight, there's a nice little article over at: http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2015/...orris-college-cup-offseason-moves-thursday-qa

Here are some guys to keep an eye on. Too bad tonight's matches clash with our game.

LB Brandon Vincent, Stanford -- A senior who probably won't last past the fifth pick, and will be in serious play starting as high as No. 2. Think of him as a left-footed Sean Franklin.

MF Richie Laryea, Akron -- An underclassman who has serious interest around the league, Larya is a a goal-scoring central midfielder who might be shifted to the wing at the next level. He's a Canadian, and a product of Sigma FC -- the same youth set-up that produced Cyle Larin.

CB Kyle Fisher, Clemson -- A senior who's been a winner and a leader throughout his youth career, Fisher has flown under the radar a bit despite a dominant season from the Tigers. I've had several scouts and agents tell me he's a top 10 pick, and one team executive called him the most MLS-ready central defender in the draft regardless of who declares.

DM Juuso Pasanen, Syracuse -- Pasanen's one of the few seniors on Syracuse's roster, and he's a litmus test: I see a heady and composed player who knows how to be available as an outlet and understands the shape of the game. Others I've spoken with see a guy who just doesn't have the physical qualities necessary for the league. The fact that he was a Finnish youth international is worth noting.
