2016 Schedule!

Maybe it won't be as cold with the whole "el niño" effect

I mean tomorrow here in NYC it's gonna be like 70 degrees....that's gotta be some freaking record don't ever remember a Christmas with temps that high here in NYC

It would be awesome to have a preseason friendly now for two reasons. 1) The weather is decent 2) But more so the field is completely flat, no pitcher's mount. So if Duke and Indiana don't tear up the field too badly, we would be able to have a slightly wider soccer field.

I think the CBA prevents any friendlies at this point as it requires a certain amount of time off for the players (all league players, not just the playoff missing players), so I think we need to wait a couple more weeks.

Tough start for both NY teams. I could see both starting 0-2.

NYCFC's opener at Chicago will be a hard one. The defense will be brand new again and Pirlo/Lampard are way too old and out of shape. I see Accam and Igboanike shredding the defense and midfield with their speed.

Both Toronto games are toss-ups.

Red Bulls in Montreal will be hard because of the turf.

You counting Jersey as a NY team?

Who the hell is this guy? We were 2-0-1 versus Toronto last year with the shit lineups produced by Kreis. And the Chicago fire are the worst team in the league. Our form during the latter half of the season was certainly better than the first when we played Chicago twice.

Anyone have an idea when the full 2016 schedule will be released?

Im seriously considering coming over to watch the Copa America Centenario and plan to base myself in NYC from about June 16th to July 1st.

I hope NYCFC play at home during that time.
Last year the league released the full schedule on Jan 7. The bad news is I'm pretty sure the league is taking a 2-week break during the Centenario.

So it is, but its likely to be during the group stage. Fingers crossed nycfc are playing in NY during the knockout stage.

Edit.
Just remembered to check the yankees schedule for june

From the 6th to the 12th the Yankees play at home but this would be the time that MLS would be on pause anyway.

Following on from that :

WED 15/06/2016 - Yankees @ Rockies
THU 16/06/2016 - Yankees @ Twins
FRI 17/06/2016 - Yankees @ Twins
SAT 18/06/2016 - Yankees @ Twins
SUN 19/06/2016 - Yankees @ Twins
MON 20/06/2016 - NIL
TUE 21/06/2016 - Yankees V Rockies - Yankee Stadium
WED 22/06/2016 - Yankees V Rockies - Yankee Stadium
THU 23/06/2016 - NIL
FRI 24/06/2016 - Yankees V Twins - Yankee Stadium
SAT 25/06/2016 - Yankees V Twins - Yankee Stadium
SUN 26/06/2016 - Yankees V Twins - Yankee Stadium
MON 27/06/2016 - Yankees V Rangers - Yankee Stadium
TUE 28/06/2016 - Yankees V Rangers - Yankee Stadium
WED 29/06/2016 - Yankees V Rangers - Yankee Stadium
THU 30/06/2016 - Yankees V Rangers - Yankee Stadium

So I really have to hope NYCFC play at home on the Fri/Sat/Sun 17-06 to 19-06.

Also MetLife Stadium hosts a Qtr Final of the Copa on Friday 17/06 which could possibly be Brazil v USA which would be amazing to watch so id assume MLS won't be playing the Friday Night game in NYC.

So basically I'm down to 2 days.........

The RedBulls are not NY plus Pirlo and Lampard are getting up there in age but to say there not in shape is crazy on you're part.

Good research. It is almost guaranteed that the club will have a home game during that weekend the Yankees are in Minnesota. I don't think there was a weekend the Yanks were out of town that we didn't play in Yankee Stadium.
