Blowing it up
Gary Mackay-Steven will undergo a medical with Hearts today.

A two-and-half-year deal is on offer, following his release from New York City.
He initially held talks with former club Aberdeen, but they say no-one will be coming in this window due to finances.

I haven't even worn my shirt yet. But if he wants to go, we need to find a fair price and let it happen.
He’s the type of player who can fool you with a highlight film or video. He has moments of flash and skill, but is not the steady producer we needed/need.Gary Mackay-Steven will undergo a medical with Hearts today.

Looks like GMS is gone.
Still thought he was a bit more useful than he was given credit for, although there is definitely more value out there for the $$ he was being paid. I'm not upset about this, but it is now another hole that needs to be filled.Gary Mackay-Steven will undergo a medical with Hearts today.

I'd put Taty on winger list. I know he was playing as a #9 but he's NOT that. At all.NYCFC 2021 DEPTH CHART
Striker: Heber, Castellanos
Wing:Mitriţă, Tajouri-Shradi, Jasson,Mackay-Steven
Wing/CAM: Moralez, Medina
CM:Ring, Parks, Sands, Acevedo, Rocha,Zelalem, Torres, Haak
RB: Tinnerholm,Scally
LB:Matarrita,Thorarinsson
CB: Chanot, Callens, Ibeagha, Gray
GK: Johnson,Stuver, Barraza
Not a 90 minute player thiugh.
Gary Mackay-Steven entered the pitch at 78:51. Here GMS is 1 minute and 14 seconds later. I don't think the Scottish were built to handle the Orlando heat/humidity. pic.twitter.com/SPlRKvsdAg

I've seen in several spots people mentioning Taty isn't a #9 and I don't get it in totality.Interesting, I was thinking that he's a better striker than winger but can play both. He does most of his damage from the middle of the pitch:
I'm fine with him as the backup striker until Heber is healthy, and to be in competition for the RW spot.

I'm not sold on Heber as our primary striker. I know last year was weird season with covid and all but I still fear he could prove a one season wonder as it were and would like to bring in a proven 9.
He shouldn't need to. I think that player is going to need to be our #10; and while Maxi has quality, he's not the type to take over. Dictate our offense? Yes, but I think we need to get faster and younger at his position. Unfortunately, I don't think we line up his successor this window.Heber is a great finisher, but not a complete striker. In the right setup (which is what he had in his first year with Dome) he will score a ton of goals, but he’s not going to take the team on his back when nothing else is working.
or, to use a MLS analogy, he’s more Zardes than Josef.
