what's the point of having the monogram look like a poor quality printing press job?
i think thats what they going for. like "spray paint" effect on a wall on the street.
EDIT: i dont mind it. its just that the jersey wont have this and neither does the sweater so its kinda like what the point of showing it.
oh so a preview to the spraypainted jersey they gave us. if only the pattern on the jersey were as "clean" as that monogram. it's the gradients on the jersey that really throw me off.
Hopefully up for purchase through MLS Store with the Star and badge in place.

OK now it's a Christmas tree outline.
the sleeves and back of the jersey are one shade, the front orange is another shade.
it's the same as the 2019 home jersey. i have one in my closet. the diff shades bothered me, but at least the front design was nice enough I could forgive it. this is just... meh.
it's sad considering other MLS teams are really killing it this year with unique prints that represent their city or just keeping it generic.
of course, as with everything, there will be some who love this and props to them. but for me, it's a no. i'll spend my cash on the sky blue jersey or wait til next year's new home sky blue.

At least from this image I can barely make out that it's a different orange. Also right where they meet it looks the same color on the sleeve specifically:
So now I'm pretty convinced it's a lighting thing. We'll find out.
Also I love the fancy "New York City FC" writing on the bottom.
Also seeing the full thing this is def my favorite NYCFC kit.
this is definitely a case of human color perception differences
all good. if you like it then more power to you. it's not the colors that are turning me off though.. it's the lightning bolt-ish lookin thing on the front. just need to see it in full kit form. i'm at 80% definitely don't like it right now. seeing it in full kit form will either reverse it or turn it into 100% no.
also - not sure where the pic source is, but it looks like the adidas flagship store on 5th ave. i should walk over there and look lol
I see the top part of the sleeve is the same as the body, but the underarm and side of the kit is a different color.sleeves are still a different shade of orange

Ah right, probably different fabric too as that's usually where they have the vented / thinner material
